I think our start has been so bad that it is putting off any potential manager. We need automatic promotion form just to make the playoffs so any managers work is going to be massively undermined and be a blot on their CV it will only be an attractive prospect imo if Leo puts enough points on the table before the wells cup break.. and then he makes a case for himself to keep the job further still. Then the other option is when we get further on in the season and it becomes a rescue job. Risky for a new manager, but the promise of a clean slate the following season or even a rebuild in league one becomes more attractive.
I might be wrong, but I think Carrick will be looking for a premier league club or at least a top six championship. Next season would be different starting a fresh. Corberán will be similar I think in terms of Championship expectations.. Rob Edwards perhaps less so.
Leo is the manager for now and it feels if anything he is holding a place for Rob Edwards.. bit of a period of evaluation perhaps?
We are screaming out for an experienced manager, one that can be trusted and steer us out of the relegation zone. Who is THAT going to be? Roy Hodgson? Alan Pardew? Steve Bruce?!?! I can’t see it being any one of them tbh Sean Dyche? going from £12m a year in the prem to £120k in the Championship? Bottom of the table!
Let’s swallow our pride, admit we took a wrong turn and bring Warnock in until the end of the season. Let’s get all our pieces in place and start again with a young coach next season.
