Leo wants the job

Millwall is always a hard place to go. Yes we were very shy but teams down the bottom don’t seem to shine through. Also I hate using this excuse but we really didn’t get the rub of the green and especially the ref decisions. On a different day we win 3-1
I’d love it if Leo could lead us into the Premier League but we beat Birmingham with new manager bounce and we were abject at Millwall. I hope Leo is part of the club for the rest of his life but if he was going to be a successful manager he’d have done it by n

We were abject, Millwall were bang average, we made them look like Real Madrid. It was my first trip there, it wasn’t intimidating in the least, they were well happy afterwards obviously. They didn’t even sing much.

Lead us to the Premier League? That would be done ask even with a clean slate! Realistically we are going to struggle to make the playoffs because of the worst start in our history. Even with a top manager and half a dozen prem quality players appearing from nowhere.. we would still struggle.

Survival would be a good job, above 16th would be fantastic and 10th place it above simply outstanding!!

Not many managers would touch our CV ruining position with a bargepole. The set up we cure you have is the most realistic and perhaps Ygritte best placed to get the most out of our current squad.

The were bang average and yet we made them look like Real Madrid.. one of the best teams in the world.

2-0 wasn’t it? The first after 5mins?

I think away from home it is a tough fixture. Switching off twice with all the turmoil surrounding our manager being fired.. understandable.

Obviously I didn’t mean him getting us promoted this season. I’d love him to succeed, he’s one of us. I just don’t see it though. Without a couple of decent buys in January I don’t see us staying up.

I think the goalposts will have been moved in regards to who we can go for.. personally I’d go league one and SPL

I don’t know enough about either to really comment. We need someone who’s tactically astute. I wasn’t Karanka’s biggest fan but he obviously had a vision and moulded the team around that vision.

Scott and Gibson need to explain their thinking at the press conference when the next manager is appointed. We need a vision to get behind.

I have to say that when I read the transcript of what he said he comes across as very astute. Its sometimes a little tricky when you listen to him on the fly As I sometimes miss the odd phrase.

Sadly, it is the players, their attitude and application that will showcase Leos ability. They let him down badly last week. The seconds after the second goal sums up our mentality, all looking at each other like gormless schoolkids. I am not sure they really have the heart for the battle. If Leo can bring that out somehow then I see no desperate reason to change things. I just dont think these players have it in them when the chips are down and the other team wants it more. A new face might bring a bounce as Wilder did last season but they will revert to type. As Wilder said, attitude over ability. Despite what we think of him he definitely had a point there.

I think Leo hit the nail on the head with not having the time to build.. we have to fix what we have.

THAT is the vision.. finding a way of getting the most out of the players we have and improving them as best we can.

Let’s see what happens tomorrow. If he keeps winning at home at least that makes us mid table in the short term. I’m not against him, I’m just worried for the first time in 36 years of watching, we might go down again.

That is a worry, but it’s not Leo’s fault. Plus there’s not manager managers who will want a blot on their CV from what Chris Wilder has left them with.

Even Millwall supporters were saying THEY were appalling and still manged to win. Some of them could barely believe how abysmal we were.
