Latte Lath - 6 goals in 12 starts

I don't know why Forss is never considered up front. I know he's been injured but now that Jones has found form are we only going to see Forss as a sub? Seems a waste. Once he's recovered from injury I'd like to see him up front. He is a good finisher, has good pace and movement.

Exactly,

He will score but we just have to accept it might not always be pretty, and he will be frustrating.
Yep.

But look at recent results, he gives us the lead v Leeds and we squander it within minutes. What would have happened if Coburn had started? Who knows, but its a very different game.

He then gets us back into the game, but a defender gets sent off and kills the game.

Same thing last night. Bizarre to blame him for anything at the moment imho.

There are some incredible explanations from posters trying to justify their criticism of Latte Lath.

We win more with coburn playing is my personal favourite. If we were talking about tennis you might have a point.

Over the number of games that stat is meaningless given there are 21 other players on the pitch.
It really isn't meaningless. What on earth has tennis to do with it?

I agree I'd like to see him given a chance. He might be totally awesome for all we know.

1 win in all the games he’s featured compared to Josh Coburn 10 games 7 wins 2 draws 1 defeat - just saying 🤷🏼‍♂️
Indeed. So should we start taking him off after he gives us the lead in games and let Josh see the game out?

Absolutely no evidence to say we’d be doing better with Josh in these last few (injury depleted) games with this leaky/unsettled defence.

Because there are only 2 players in a game of tennis. If you don't understand the point I was making, then you, kinda, prove my point for me.
It is a really poor association.
Not a great point you are trying to make.
And misplaced intellectual arrogance.

You are drawing a causation from correlation that just doesn't exist.
I think the fact we have been missing Hackney in these last three defeats is a bigger factor for us losing but i don’t have any doubts that the team is better suited to having Coburn up front rather than Lath

The chance Lath had last night in front of the South stand where he was put through on the right hand side and absolutely shanked it was appalling for a player that cost £5m
His goal was extremely lucky going through the legs of the defender and then the keeper.
He's certainly quick, but I'm yet to be convinced he's an upgrade on Leroy Lita who had similar attributes....
Was that not Jones who missed? I thought it was at the time!

Its a fair opinion, based on some of the stats. It would be interesting to revisit the debate towards the end of the season if we can shore the defence up first.

He has missed sitters, but I'd rather he was in the positions to score/miss than not at all.

Coburn doesn't miss that many sitters, and doesn't score many, but we do have a better record with him in the side.

However, that could simply be coincidence. If Coburn's 'work rate' is the reason we are conceding less as a unit, there is an even bigger flaw in the defence that needs to be addressed.
Latte Lath has had his run of games during an injury crisis, that's the likely cause of him being involved in less wins than Coburn

It's horses for courses for me. Some games Lath may be more suited, others we might need Coburn's physicality and ability to rough up defences. Regardless it'd be nice to have more options than we do right now with Josh presumably crocked.

That was Jones.
