Latte Lath - 6 goals in 12 starts

He should have double that figure, as he's missed some absolute sitters.

Plus, we've only won one game when he's started, and that was against Preston.

Not saying he is the problem, but the way he plays doesn't suit us as well as Coburn does.

He has missed sitters, but I'd rather he was in the positions to score/miss than not at all.

Coburn doesn't miss that many sitters, and doesn't score many, but we do have a better record with him in the side.

However, that could simply be coincidence. If Coburn's 'work rate' is the reason we are conceding less as a unit, there is an even bigger flaw in the defence that needs to be addressed.

That’s one thing you can’t criticize Latte Lathe for ie his work rate.

Latte Lath - 23/24

xG/90 mins - 0.54
Goals/90 mins - 0.52

Coburn - 23/24

xG/90 mins - 0.34
Goals/90 mins - 0.33

Archer - 22/23

xG/90 mins - 0.42
Goals - 0.72

Lath gets himself in more goal scoring opportunities than Archer did for us last season and far more than Josh does and his finishing seems fair. 1 goal every 2 games seems a decent return.

The question with Lath us around the rest of his game. The ball doesn't really stick as well as it does to Josh. Josh can hold it up much better and bring other players into play.

Archer had exceptional finishing last season almost scoring twice as many goals as his xG suggested and i think thats whay some people are hoping from Lath. That's the difference between a £5m and a £15m player though. If Lath was a better finisher he wouldn't be playing championship football.

Only 4 clubs have conceded fewer goals than us in championship and around a dozen in the 3 leagues below the prem.

The problem is easy to spot.
Shame we don’t have a defender in the coaching team
Surely you mean more, not fewer?

The chance Lath had last night in front of the South stand where he was put through on the right hand side and absolutely shanked it was appalling for a player that cost £5m
His goal was extremely lucky going through the legs of the defender and then the keeper.
He's certainly quick, but I'm yet to be convinced he's an upgrade on Leroy Lita who had similar attributes....

Plus 1 off the bench to seal a win against Cardiff.

I see a lot of criticism of him, but surely our biggest problem is a defence that's leaked 2+ goals in 7 of the last 9 matches?
We've been conceding since the season kicked off, 3 at Coventry, 4 at West Brom.

Our best run of clean sheets was 3 in a row.

Latte Lath scored a good goal and set one up perfectly for Jones.

He didn't get many chances last night, the easy ones fell to Jones, Crooks and Greenwood.

I think he is more than capable at his level, and is ready to be our no.1 striker.

He is growing in confidence, works his socks and has an eye for goal.

He has a rawness to his game that can cloud his judgment sometimes but I think we have to accept that at our level.

Overall I think he is and will be a decent signing in terms of outlay and return in goals.

Hoping he can get close to 15 goals this season and that would be a big success for him.
