Lammy epitomises why Labour will struggle to get in.

But you say that as if Labour don’t have a platform- I see Keri Starmer being interviewed as much as Boris but Kier chooses to use that platform to bash the opposition rather than explain his own approach.
And this is a prime example of your lack of understanding.

He's not 'bashing' the 'opposition'. Labour IS the opposition.

He's 'bashing' the GOVERNMENT.

Any links to that? I've done a bit of googling but can't find anything. I found a link suggesting 90% of people don't believe ethnicity is a factor in being English, with the older age group being prevalent to the opposite view, but even that group has reducing numbers. I was surprised anyone thought genetics was a factor. I can understand differences in opinions to flags and culture issues but not to question nationality.

(Had to screenshot as the link seems to break when embedded)

Here's one example, I saw a fair number more in the comments of tweets relating to that horrible interview, but I think plenty are coming from people from outside of the UK so I'll not use them as examples.

I've got absolutely no problem with people identifying more strongly as British than English, which is understandably especially prominent in London, but that's not the same as outright denying they can be English.

I agree.

He's only interviewed on controversial matters where the government has miserably failed the British people. In that respect, he has done nothing that could be described as 'bashing' anyone.

His style is not to bash but to forensically expose failings. This should be more powerful than bashing, but will be lost on our poorly politically educated electorate.
It is lost on the voters because he has zero presentational skills. He is Mogadon man. It doesn't matter what he says if nobody is listening.

As I said, lost on a poorly politically educated electorate. I don't see much changing in that respect with 'nothing being said' populism gaining votes at the ballot box, although at least this country is becoming more isolated now the USA decides boredom is preferable to hot air.

Whoever has the traditional and social media on their side will win an election. The vast majority of people have no inclination/ability to understand policies and manifestos.

I have a hunch that the vast majority of people would vote Labour if they were allowed by the media in an unbiased way to see the policies that would be introduced.

The major hurdle is that the people who control the media do not want this to happen so we get attacks on whoever leads the Labour Party; eating bacon sandwich incorrectly, terrorist sympathiser etc.

If anyone actually watched Keir Starmer rip Johnson to shreds every week in PMQs then they might have a different view of him.

What inference is that? I’ve made no such inference at all
Absolutely no inference at all he says with a straight face. Come off it wee gord the thread is about David Lanny and out of know where you say this:

“Sadly so, and some of them swear they aren’t Tories”

happy to hear the explanation of what you meant by this?

That's the only electorate he's got. He needs to deal with it but he can't. He is a poor communicator, an uninspiring public speaker and a dull interviewee. Even his erstwhile supporters can see this. They're beginning to question his leadership. He's lost the audience and he's beginning to lose the dressing room.

Can he not take the chance in those interviews to use the opportunity he has been given?

Starmer's excellent budget response in the Commons earlier this month effectively went unreported by MSM.
It was all about 'Rishi this' and 'Rishi that'.

Very happy to do so FatCat - this thread started off as an attack on David Lammy having a go at him for various things, when someone posted a clip of him dealing with a racist very, very well in the face of provocation, most of the Tories who had been having a go at him on the thread ignored it. That is what I'm talking about, the fact that so many 'I've always voted Labour but refuse to do so now / I'm not a Tory' posters who ignored that in much the same way as they ignore reasoned responses in loads of political threads.

I'll gladly accept your apology for suggesting I've said Tories are racists though FatCat as I said no such thing and inferred no such thing.

No problem Wee Gord my misunderstanding “I’m sorry Wee Gord” - these threads can be long and winding and I missed that nuance:)

See the jerk blasted the police in Bristol for being “ really, really heavy handed. The guy is a disgrace offering such comments. Being pelted with bricks, bottles and fireworks - so is this acceptable in the eyes of the Shadow Home Secretary.
Maybe he was commenting on the police attacking people with the edge of riot shields as tehy were sat on the floor posing zero threat? I mean a bit more balance to your post might give it a little credibility rather than make it look like party politics

But isn’t part of their job even a little tincy bit for them to lay out who they are what they are about and explain their policies. Not just go that’s **** we would have done better - on every subject in the news?
Keep your cards close to your chest. Don't want the Tories knocking Labours policies yet again.
