See the jerk blasted the police in Bristol for being “ really, really heavy handed. The guy is a disgrace offering such comments. Being pelted with bricks, bottles and fireworks - so is this acceptable in the eyes of the Shadow Home Secretary.

Absolute baffoon and certainly not fit for the position.

I can’t listen to him - the reason this lot will never get in is they spend 95percent criticising the current gvt at every turn and not enough time on offering up a credible , alternative vision for people to buy into.

He doesn't exactly inspire confidence, but if some of their MPs saying stupid things is the reason "they'll never get in" how have the Tories managed it time and time and again? They're even worse.

Almost as if the two aren't being held to the same standard or something isn't it?

OP totally misrepresented what he said about unacceptable violence. A typical Tory tactic to spread misinformation.

What is a baffoon by the way?

We seem to use a very different approach when passing judgement on the Labour Party than we do the current government.

not enough time on offering up a credible , alternative vision for people to buy into.

After the last two elections we now know part of the problem is the general public don't really have a clue what is or isn't credible.

EDIT in fact it's just one of those things people say they want to avoid admitting what they really like. Just repeating daft phrases like "brexits oven ready" isn't especially credible. People will keep voting tory because they hate travellers, hate muslims, hate unions, hate teachers, hate nurses (if they dare ask for a payrise), hate anyone on benefits and hate their neighbours. They like the punish everyone party.

You have absolutely nailed it there SS. The public are bombarded with s**t and have lost sight of, through no fault of their own, what really matters. Concerns over education, health and crime have been sidelined and their attention has been diverted to immigrants, wokeism, statues, Brexit and how everything is Labour’s fault (despite only being in power 25 out of the last 75). Classic dead cat tactics.
