Labour's October Budget

Boo, Hiss !

Labour are keeping to their promises, taxing wealthier businesses most, raising the minimum wage, helping working people with fuel duties, also helping to keep the cost of food down, real funding to start improving the NHS and state education, helping hospitality with a reduction in duty on draught alcohol. Building more houses. There will be a small increase in inflation as was predicted.

How dare they keep to their promises they were elected on, thats not how politicians are meant to behave, shame on them 😁

Banging the minimum wage up but keeping the thresholds the frozen is just dragging the worse off into tax liabilities they can not afford.

Couple this with Employers NI being hiked up means those just above the minimum wage will see little to no pay rises as employers simply can’t afford it… so they will be worse off as well.

This was far from a working family friendly budget

Employers only pay what they can get away with.

My former employer paid mediocre pay rises and bonuses for many years until last year when he personally banked half a billion from selling the business.

Got the small violin out for my brother in law who was just about to exchange contracts on his second buy to let property and is moaning on about the injustice of having to now pay 5% instead of 3% extra stamp duty.

He’s not quite grasping how fortunate he is to be in the position to be paying the surcharge.

Won’t somebody think of the Landlords!
