If he could replicate that, say start 10 of the final 18 games and score 5 times then that would be 10 league goals for the season. At that point, you could possibly see a middling European team maybe offering enough for us to break even.

Engel is likely to be a back-up to Thomas. You could possibly see a team that has been promoted to the Championship take a punt on him for under £1m.
That said, you don't need to make a profit of everyone, what you need is to make a profit of the group of players you sell in a given window and that has to be enough to invest in improving the team.
I think it's too early to judge the recruitment but next summer, Scott's "model" has to start to bear fruit. This summer we took several steps back, next summer we need to start moving forwards.
