Kieran Scott window review

That’s precisely what I was getting at……NO I don’t expect a “Director of Football” to be putting the bins out, but from what he was saying he clearly looks into all matters at the club.
All matters relating to the playing side yes, I think that's his role in broad terms?

Last year.

I agree he’s better as a striker from what I saw last year, but still think he’ll be a bit of a duff signing. Might have the odd good moment but will be sold as a frustrating underachiever from what I’ve seen
Early days to just simply write him off.

259 minutes in the league and 70 minutes in the cup against Leeds.. where he scored.

He’s already way above some of our previous strikers!

It's great to see someone who communicates with the fans from upstairs. He has been a breath of fresh air. Before him the decision making in the club was terrible at times from gibson.in Gibson financial wise can't fault him but in some of the decisions he was making and his communication wasn't so good.Scott comes in turns the recruitment system round and brings in players that are putting us in a positive financial position for the future in terms of how much these bargain signings are now worth and he keeps on delivering he is the difference along with an up and coming manager.
Absolutely right about Gibson, what he helped to do mid 80’s and what he has done since becoming Chairman is fantastic but some decisions and lack of transparency leaves a lot to be desired but Scott has been a breath of fresh air as far as his openness to information.
Didn’t think that I would like him to be fair but I think he’s shown he means business 👍

Was told by a good source just before he signed that Boro recruitment team felt they were getting the best player in the US league, certainly in terms of being above Championship level. They were very confident that he would be a Premier League player.
It’s clear already that he can make it in the prem, I’ve never been so sure so quickly

Enjoyed that, even if Kieran did look like he was an anonymous witness trying to hide his identity.

Thought it was interesting where he said they've got to know Carrick's preferences in a player better over time and had even identified specific countries where the players have more characteristics they want and where they are ramping up the scouting.

Re: Doak, I expect he is already out of our price range for a permanent. Very highly rated at Liverpool and I'd expect they'll see as a first team option in the coming years. No imperative to sell either. Think you'd be looking around £25m to open the conversation.

Looking at teams that have recently been promoted, they have such a low cost base that they can spend 100-150m no problem. So if we get up then he would very much be in our price range, if Liverpool had bigger fish to fry.

52 minutes long, so bound to be plenty to dig in to.
Enjoyed that. That’s the 3rd interview he’s done in the space of an week answering pretty much the same questions but each time I’ve got a bit more out of it.

Can only imagine what Woody and Carrick were doing when they were trying to convince Rav to join. They must’ve been acting out match play situations.

I thought we had an option on Doak?

Yeah, he's always worth a listen.

No major reveals in it, but it was interesting.

- We were already starting the process of trying to sign Tommy Conway before last season had even ended and he turned down better financial offers to come here.

- Said we were never close to selling any major players, and didn't think Gibson would have sanctioned Latte Lath's sale even if the bid had came early in the window.

- Juninho met with him whilst over for that event and he invited them over to Brazil to take a look at the club he's at, which might be interesting for future targets.

- Said Carrick specifically namechecked Doak as a player he'd want to sign if he became available, though there's no chance of us getting him permanently.

- He's just bought a new house up here, his son was born at James Cook and he sees his future here and hopes he's here for the long term.

He sounds really excited for the potential chance to try and keep us in the Premier League if we did manage to get promoted.
