Kieran Scott on your radio tonight

Sweepstake for at what minute in the interview he mentions Wilder .. I'm guessing he still has an axe to grind there and still hasn't got it off his chest .. :)

Bit of a nothing interview in some ways. Nothing we didn't already know. Maybe the Greenwood deal isn't as easy to get done as people think, especially if Leeds get promoted. I guess that is because his wages would go back to what he was earning in the premier league.
Scott is happy at the Boro and enjoying his job. Seems like the backroom team are gelling pretty well and singing off the same hymn sheet most of the time.

January targets are nearly all in place i.e we know who we are going for, but I expect deals not agreed. It sounds like the Club are well prepared for the Jan window.

Big clubs want their loan players to Boro - more so than 14 months ago. Carrick and ex Villa guy we have are a big draw. "The phone rings a lot more now"

Scott more impressed with Boro away support then he expected before he came - he mentioned 6k to 7k at Preston in 2022. He said the team and managment let them down that day.

There is an option to buy Greenwood, but it sounds like the player is waiting to see if Leeds are promoted and what happens to Boro. Scott has tried to sign Greenwood twice in the past for other clubs he worked for.

If offered League Cup winner or 6th, he would go LC winner.

He used to do a lot of scouting and football analysis of games for future opposition clubs.

Sounded a bit disappointed that Wilder did not play Balogun more i.e he would have developed more if played more.

He feels we will do well against the better clubs in the Championship.

He thought Leicester's wage bill is at least 4 times bigger than Boro's possibly 5 times. He thought the gap between parachute clubs and the rest is increasing. Gibson is still subsidising the Club.

He feels we are developing a Boro type of player which makes scouting easier.

He didn't talk about agents but said he could easily do 60 minutes just on agents.

He felt Boro fans had seen some great players at the Riverside and this meant their expectations were higher than at some other clubs. He did not think this was wrong, but the bar was high at the Boro for scouts and recruitment.
He actually likes the challenge this presents. He also likes a bargain, his fav signing was Pukki - 30 goal a season man on a free.

I like how he has served an apprenticeship, but still has got a hunger for his job.

Yes - he did sound like we will be trying to sign player(s) in Janaury and quite a bit of thought had already gone into it.
