I would rather find the next rvd to play next to rvd 1.Finding the next Morgan Rogers would be a good start to Scott's summer...
Micah Hamiltons contract runs out at Man City U21s
Ladislav Krejci LCH Sparta Prague captain leader £5mI would rather find the next rvd to play next to rvd 1.
He was fine in September just played in the wrong position
I did the same and took the sell on off the $4m to get £2.6m.I'm sure read/heard Crooksey's fee was $4m (about £3m?) plus Rotherham had a sell on fee
dunno like, the ball was bouncing off him, he couldn't trap a ball for a couple of months and always turned into trouble. he looked crap tbh, very raw indeed. anyone saying we could see what a good player he would transform into within a few months is on crack. nobody saw it at all, it had barely happened apart from a few games and then we sold him.Yep. Even played out of position it was obvious to anyone who actually watches the game, rather than just say what everyone else is saying that he had some fantastic attributes. Me and thee knew.

Check if you want.
Weird because we were right. He was creative, dribbled and worked well when facing goal, he just isn’t a back to goal player, that was obviousdunno like, the ball was bouncing off him, he couldn't trap a ball for a couple of months and always turned into trouble. he looked crap tbh, very raw indeed. anyone saying we could see what a good player he would transform into within a few months is on crack. nobody saw it at all, it had barely happened apart from a few games and then we sold him.
yes he was quick and strong and was able to carry a ball up the pitch. but 90% of games you wouldnt forget he was on the pitch. i was hoping in an a season or two he'd become a key player. kid settled quickly. well done to him.
Exactly this mate. Those shouting loud aat us, can’t bring themselves to reverse their judgement.Nobody saw it at all? I saw it immediately and regularly posted about how good he obviously was. Check if you want.
He never looked crap, its just some people are crap at judging footballers.
This myth that he rarely did it for us is also complete bollox. 16 goal contributions in all competitions, the highest percentage per minute chance creation in the whole division, and it was evident how important he was to us by how much we struggled in the month after he left.
I wasn't on crack either, at least not that I can remember....
Now?This season's recruitment
Excellent. Dieng, RVDB, Latte Lath, Rogers
Good. O'Brien, Ayling
OK. Glover, Azaz (I think he will improve significantly though)
Poor. Engel, Silvera
Terrible. Greenwood, Thomas, Gilbert (based on Carrick's refusal to use him)
Unknown. Bangura, J. Jones
Total cost (not including loan fees) - £12.5m
How much are they worth now if we sold them? Well we have already sold Rogers for somewhere around £15m. Guestimates of the values of the rest
Dieng - £5m, RVDB £15m, ELL £8m, Azaz £3m, Engel £1m, Silvera £500K, Bangura £1m?, Glover £500k so maybe £30-£35m in total then add the sale of Rogers and we're looking at £45-£50m.
That's a good hit rate and an impressive growth in value though nearly all the increase in value comes from Rogers and RVDB.

Excellent. Dieng, RVDB, Latte Lath, Ayling, Rogers
Good. O'Brien, Azaz
OK Glover, Engel
Poor. Silvera, Thomas, Greenwood
Showing potential. Bangura, Gilbert
Basically, I no longer rate anyone as a terrible signing. I think Bangura might prove to be excellent and you can't ask for anymore from Gilbert in the last two games.

I agree some players weren't even really squad players they were bought as low risk projects. I see silvera developing into a really good player, given time. The fact that Carrick continues to give him cameos suggests he is showing something in training.I don't even think there are any 'poor' signinings - Silvera, Thomas and Greenwood were all signed as squad players really and have showed flashes/potential and given us some great moments during the season (bar Thomas perhaps, though he nearly scored yesterday and v Cardiff).
