Kenneth Zohore

He suits the former big ticket premier league fringe players. All would undoubtedly add quality to our squad.

CD Ben Gibson £15m - Burnley - Loan
MF Kevin Stewart £8m - Hull - Free
RW Jacob Murphy £10m - Newcastle - Loan
AM Patrick Roberts £12m - Man City - Loan
ST Kenneth Zohore £8m - West Brom - Loan

GK Dillon Phillips - Charlton - £1m
ST Yaya Sanogo - Toulouse - Free

Looks like we could have £53m+ worth of talent could be rocking up to the Warnock promotion battle bus with around £1m being spent on actual transfer fees.
I’d settle for that list!!!

One of your better lists! Can’t see it happening though. Never know, though!

No way will it be 100% but the idea that we can add quality to though fully utilising the loan system and signing quality free agents is very much in the realms of possibility and looks to have been the plan all along. I’m concerned that some fans are getting their knickers in a twist over ‘missing out’ on the likes of Goode and Moore. I honestly do not think that is the case. Our transfers will go down to the wire for the most part.

I think Zohore will have been a main target since Warnock took over. Probably our number 1 striker target even.

Warnock loves him. If the feeling is mutual and the money is right (assume a loan of some description) then surely one we can get in.

Good enough to play the majority of games for a side that achieved automatic promotion. He's surely good enough for us then.

All those should be elementary for a forward. We need goals not work rate

You know they're not though.

Buying players with good goal scoring stats is a mug's game.
"Should" doesn't enter in to it.
What we need to ask is can this guy be effective in the system we will play, with the players we have?

You can’t just pick and choose with statistics it has to be across the board. We’ve defo went the route of pick and choose and no point bringing in statistically great defensive midfielders and defenders when you have poor attackers. It just leaves you.. well exactly where we’ve been.

Warnock is building off plan, a bespoke job. Crafting a squad rather than going half cocked with the moneyball route (where we also paid over the odds.. defeating the whole point) Underrated.. but over priced. Leaving an unbalanced squad. Very poor.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.
If I remember rightly, you are a fan of the Moneyball approach? My understanding of the book (somewhat lost in the film) is that statistics were always used in baseball selection. What changed was the identification of which statistics actually made a difference to results.

So I think you do have to pick and choose which statistics you use, and I'd suggest goals per game is not a good one to pick. More detail is needed.

Furthermore in football, I think it's likely to depend on what else you have. A striker with great stats from running in behind and scoring isn't going to replicate that in a team who mainly attacks by getting in plenty of crosses, right?

Likewise, I believe possession stats are fools gold. On any given matchday, more teams with 50%+ possession lose than win. Possession in the final third, however, is a different story.

Philips, Zohore, Gibson, Roberts and one other..

He's a mobile unit. Hardly prollific but enough for someone to pay 8mil.

To be honest anyone is an improvement on Rudy.

Quite excited by this.
I really can't remember seeing him play but seem to remember him being a key member when Cardiff got promoted.
A loan deal would suit both clubs I think.
