Keiffer Moore didn’t fit our model of play - apparently

See, I made that last post up but it sounds plausible enough to create the impression of insight or insider knowledge. Nobody has any idea whether he was ever under consideration, or even interested in moving up to the other end of the country.

It’s just another stick with which to beat the club.

He would've cost a lot and we would've still had the rest of the squad the same as it is so promotion wasn't on the cards. It would've been a waste of money (even though he would've improved us). We would've needed a lot more signings to improve us to make it financially worthwhile.
So what, we made more than enough on Rogers to afford to bring a striker in on loan for 6 months, who could help push us towards the play offs. We weren't that far away a month ago. Can't imagine Ayling and Thomas were cheap considering both were in the Premier League last season.

It’s not knocking or bashing the club im just pointing out that options were there in Jan that did move to this league yet we never went for him.

Sunderland did though and even held talks.

He never joined Sunderland, the same could be said about every striker that moved in January.

Maybe Armando Broja just didn’t fit our model? Apparently.

So why doesn't that apply to Ayling and Thomas then?

Players who were contracted whilst in the PL?

Coburn, Lath, and Jones were injured and we knew that Rogers, Kav and Crooks were leaving, but then decided we didn't need a striker according to many on here as we weren't looking likely for promotion.

But happily loaned in Ayling and Thomas, and then loaned out Bilongo and Agyemang who could have covered for the injured Smith and Bangura if we were struggling through to the end of the season with what we had.

It just doesn't stack up as an excuse or reason, it's boIIocks.

He spoke to them though.

We never went in for him as he didn’t fit the model.
Btw if your not angry after yesterdays result and our abysmal form then you are part of the problem.
The first one you’re absolutely guessing that he doesn’t ’fit the model’

I don’t get too angry by the football anymore, disappointed yes but angry no. Football is never cut and dry, things work and things don’t, it’s all part of the rollercoaster.

Because Carrick said it

Carrick said: "For us bringing players into the group, it's vital they have to improve you.

"They have to be the right ones for different reasons. It's not a case of just bringing someone in to be a stop-gap or to fill a slot, they have to really improve us and there has to be a really good reason for that. We feel the players we have brought in, we're really happy with. They're here for good reason and we've seen that already.

"Certainly in forward areas we're flexible, boys can play across the forward line, we can mix it up a bit in terms of positioning which is good for us. We certainly feel there's enough goals throughout the team to make the difference."
He said that before Rogers was sold

Don't see the point of dwelling on this regardless. He wouldn't have come here. Are we to be retroactively annoyed at the club for not claiming a participation award over a transfer?
