His first goal on Saturday was a bit dodgy. VAR checked correctly for offside. He was onside. However the ball bounced off the top of his arm prior to him scoring.
Here is the video of it....His first goal on Saturday was a bit dodgy. VAR checked correctly for offside. He was onside. However the ball bounced off the top of his arm prior to him scoring.
The Germans forget how bad their own league is, Dortmund and Bayern should top that as much as Rangers and Celtic top the scottish prem.Thing is Sancho looked brilliant in Germany. So much so the Germans thought England were crazy not to use him more in the last European Championships. Sancho shouldn't have gone to Man United.
Imagine 2002 plus 2023 EnglandShame we have poor defensive options
Agree with this.Sancho had to go to a side where he played every week, regardless of form. At Man U, they have so many options that when you go out of form you're screwed and can't even play yourself back into form, so the hole just gets deeper and deeper. Same thing happened with Van Der Beek, and many others.
If only Ferdinand was 25 now, we would be world champions, when people say our defence is good enough you just need to ask which CB is on the same level as Rio Ferdinand and which fullback is on the same level as prime Ashley Cole. It's chalk n cheese.Imagine 2002 plus 2023 England
Seaman,
Neville,
Ferdinand,
Campbell
Cole
Rice
Bellingham
Foden
Grealish
Madison
Kane
That teams good enough to get to a world cup final or two. Losing on pens of course.
Ferdinand was the best of a fantastic generation of central defenders:If only Ferdinand was 25 now, we would be world champions, when people say our defence is good enough you just need to ask which CB is on the same level as Rio Ferdinand and which fullback is on the same level as prime Ashley Cole. Adams and Keown overlapped with those players and Ugo and Matt Upson could barely get a look in against those players. either with just a handful of caps. Both would be a shoe in to the current England squad.Ferdinand was the best of a fantastic generation of central defenders:
Terry
Campbell
Ledley King
Southgate
Woodgate would be in that list but for his injuries too. I've probably missed others too.
Best thing he could’ve done was stay abroad. Look how Sancho has gone; career had stalled. Keep aware from the media and the added pressures that come with being Englands superstar.
I think it is, purely because of the money in the prem. Dortmund are skint compared to the top 10 in the prem, which is why they're so good at picking out young talent (as they have to, to compete with Bayern). Even Bayern aren't exactly loaded mind. They don't get the same TV revenue and also don't rip the fans off (well played on that one).Agree with this.
Not so much about the Premier League being so much better than the Bundesliga though.
All interesting points. I don’t disagree with any of that based on what you mention. Perhaps an argument can be made for La Logan being the best league. It must be most successful in European club competition.I think it is, purely because of the money in the prem. The German league is probably 4th, behind Prem, Spain and Italy, in that order. People underestimate the Prem (and even the champo) as England don't do so well internationally, but this is because the league is so strong and flooded with foreign talent (more so than other leagues), so the promising top young players don't play as often as they should, it slows development down
These are the most expensive transfers of all time in Germany, ~£260m total. Chelsea have spent ~£385m this year alone and they finished 12th last year.
5) Dayot Upemecano - Bayern Munich (£36.5m)
4) Julian Draxler - VfL Wolfsburg (£37m)
3) Leroy Sane - Bayern Munich (£51.6m)
2) Matthijs De Ligt - Bayern Munich (£68m)
1) Lucas Hernandez - Bayern Munich (£68.5m)
Maybe not but the British, in typical fashion, would be out to ruin him.I don't think there's less media scrutiny at Real Madrid.
There'll be far more.
It’s ruining sanchos careerThing is Sancho looked brilliant in Germany. So much so the Germans thought England were crazy not to use him more in the last European Championships. Sancho shouldn't have gone to Man United.
Will be wasted under a shyte ManagerRice, Bellingham and Foden feeding Kane, Grealish and Saka is an astonishing surfeit of talent.
Forgot the obvious, a certain Mr H Kane!I think it is, purely because of the money in the prem. So many young players would be wise to get their heads around this.Sancho should have went to a team expected to finish maybe 5th-10th, where they had little other options, and this is where he's going to end up, except with a few lost years of development.
Gabriel Jesus who played 236 games and scored 95 goals for Man City?So many young players would be wise to get their heads around this.
It is one million times better for your career and development to be Grealish at Villa, the main man, than unable to get on the City / United / Chelsea bench because if you don’t do it straightaway, they’ll buy a superstar straightaway to replace you.
These clubs are not in the business of developing talent, they need results to win trophies straightaway. That’s why Chelsea wasted Salah, KDB, young Lukaku.
I mean, Gabriel Jesus hardly played for City and he goes to Arsenal and looks like one of the best players in the league.
If I was 22 and hungry I’d be thinking Brighton, Villa, Palace, Brentford.
Bayern aren’t loaded? They are easily one of the wealthiest clubs in Europe and have a turnover similar to that of the top PL clubs, which makes it possible for them to spend 100m on Kane.I think it is, purely because of the money in the prem.
