we don't usually play any formation with a number 10, so what is the point in taking Lingard? Are you suggesting at times we should change formation to accomodate him or that we play him out of position? I mean England managers are constantly berated for round pegs and square holes. Lindgard is too specialist, and had two good months followed by reverting to form again during the last month.

If we're trailing with 20 minutes left to play then yes, change the formation and try something different.

If we set up the Chelsea way and go 343 then Lingard could have slotted in to one the attacking midfield positions.
