Joy Division or New Order?

Which do you prefer?

I like Joy Division but love New Order so it’s the latter for me.

good question I was into Joy Division before they reformed as New Order and really liked them but absolutely loved New Order from day one and much preferred them to Joy Division but now funnily enough I find my self listening to Joy Division more think I prefer them more now ..

New Order for me. From Movement through to Technique I absolutely loved them. After that, not so much although I am going to see them play in Leeds later this year.

My favorite band - seen them around 40 times. I do regret not seeing JD back in the day though. Can't beat a bit of Disorder and Dead Souls!

Tough one, JD more emotive, NO just class. One of my favourite tunes is Run2 by New Order.

Joy Division for me by a long way. New order became something quite different without the lyrics and intensity of Ian Curtis.

Surely it's a progression from one band to another? You've got to know the JD history to appreciate why New Order sound they way they do? See "In A Lonely Place" for the perfect transition.

Love them both, but probably more so Joy Division as I get older.

If 24 hour party people is anything to go by New Order would have been much better off if it wasn’t for that damned nightclub.

I am lucky enough to see them both live. Different bands but I cant pick between them. So its a both from me.
