*** Joshua vs Usyk 2 ***

After watching AJ's last 4 fights and being underwhelmed by his boxing personally I have no desire to watch him fight again. Maybe time for him to retire - no point getting hit in the head anymore when he's probably not going to get another title shot for a few years.

Fury vs Usyk looks to be on the cards - that should be a decent spectacle - I just hope it's in the UK. I see Fury winning it comfortably and then really retiring! One more fight to be the undisputed champion.

most boxers fall into that category, so should they all give up? If he still wants it he should carry on, it's not like he got rag-dolled around the ring and badly hurt.

Really hope Fury vs Usyk can will happen, Love for it to be in the U.K but imagine Las Vegas would get it. AJ needs to take a few fights, get a few wins under his belt and work his way back up to challenger to potentially pave way for a clash with Fury for all the belts should he beat Usyk.

I'm probably dreaming there mind.

Yeah, maybe, but he's in a good position to retire now. I would suggest apart from the money he's not got much to gain from continuing. His reputation seems to be getting damaged with each fight.

Retire gracefully at the top (kinda at the top) and then he can sell his clothes, to TV etc. Enjoy it.

Can Fury get in the US anymore? Seem to remember they refused him recently. I suppose though he'll be allowed in for a big money Vegas fight.

AJ hasn't had a good fight for about 5 years. He was fighting nobodies and chasing a payday. His team knew he wasn't good enough to beat anyone good but then he got battered by Ruiz and his career was over. Ruiz was massive by the time they had a rematch and then Joshua is forced to fight someone good in Usyk as an attempt to regain some credibility and Usyk just made him look ordinary. He's in the same league as Whyte, Wilder, Chisora etc in that they aren't dreadful boxers but they can't ever be considered top level.

He can continue fighting but nobody is going to take him seriously anymore. He's worth over £100m so he doesn't need the money and he's surely going to struggle to get a big fight now. Wilder might fight him but surely the money in that is going to be nowhere near what he is used to earning so is it worth being knocked out by Wilder to increase his net worth by about 10%.

I have to respectfully disagree with that sentiment. I agree his reputation went downhill and he has looked overly cautious since the Ruiz defeat and the first fight with Usyk was a low for him. However, I think his performance in the ring on Saturday night showed a big step up and despite losing he can hold his head high and across the board his performance in the ring has pretty much been praised.

After the fight he embarrassed himself a bit there's no doubt about it however I viewed it as someone deeply upset because he has such hunger and desire to win. He has rightly apologised for his behaviour and will learn from it.

I still think he has a lot to offer and as long as he takes the improvements from Saturday's performance and builds on it through another 2 or 3 fights there's no reason why he can't potentially be world champion again.

I think a lot of people are keen to stick the boot into Joshua but he didn't pick up a pair of gloves until he was 18. He's far from perfect and he clearly doesn't have the same amateur pedigree as the likes of Usyk and Fury but that's almost a compliment to him and what he has achieved. Also, the guy was going down the wrong path and should be given a huge credit for turning his life around.

Personally, I hope he's still around for a few years yet and gets the big fights he deserves.

Come on that's such an over the top post. He KOd two people who had never been KOd and beat Parker and Ruiz by outboxing them. They weren't top rank wins, but they were very decent professional performances.

He hasn't been fighting nobodies either, he's been fighting top 10 boxers every fight. Nobodies are the number 40 in the world that Wilder was fighting constantly. Maybe people not taking him seriously is what he needs, maybe he needs the hunger of being the under dog and proving people wrong.

Bruno had this stuff levelled at him and was world champ within 2 years. Joshua isn't a bum, he has his flaws, but he's game, powerful, and dangerous. He hasn't got the level of head shots that Wilder has got in the last 5 years, he isn't carrying that threat to his health that Wilder has. He's only been badly hurt in one of his three defeats. He's still probably Britains 3rd best heavyweight in the last 100 years.

I didn’t mind the stuff in the ring afterwards, I did find it funny but I also don’t see why everyone was kicking off about it. I feel like it’s the first time we’ve seen AJ being himself and I don’t mind that at all, been saying he should just be himself for years.

I would suggest that most people's opinion of Joshua has dropped after Saturday. He looked ordinary, only looked to have Usyk in trouble in one round and couldn't follow it up then made a total ass of himself after the fight.

In my opinion AJ didn't really improve and I have seen nothing in the last 4 fights to suggest he's going to. I think he's at his right level now, 3rd or 4th best fighter in the division. The only chance he has to get those belts back is Fury winning them and then retiring. Then he fights some mandatory and gets a couple back over the course of a few years. An upcoming fighter might just have the better of him by then anyway.

It was an improvement on the first fight but Usyk is just simply too good for AJ. The only chance he had was to catch up and win by stoppage but apart from the 9th AJ was never really close to that and for every good round like that i often find AJ then struggles for the next two or three as he looks absolutely shot.

As said above he isnt in the top 2 heavy weights, Fury and Usyk are well ahead of everyone. Joshua still gives everyone else a good fight, id like to see him take on Wilder but he only wins the titles as and when Usyk and Fury step aside.

Also on the judge that scored it for AJ, I’ve seen far, far worse decisions than that. Wouldn’t even have come close to a top 20 worst decisions I’ve seen if AJ had won. Obviously it would have been very wrong but nothing will happen to that judge I don’t think, people have scored much worse and not had anything happen to them.

Agree, there's been some down right shockers in the past.

But it doesn't mean the judge who scored AJ 2 rounds up shouldn't be criticised.

Would like them to come out and explain their decision in scoring that to AJ. But we know that won't happen.

As long as it it’s not Saudi so that’s true fight Fans can go and actually see it.

I don’t think Fury would fight there To be honest.

Joshua is still one of the most exciting fighters in the division and there's plenty of great fights out there for him. Wilder, Whyte, Ruiz 3, Joyce, Dubois, Hrgovic, Zang, Hunter plus not forgetting Tyson Fury. It might be a good move for him to take on Otto Wallin next to start the rebuilding process. Any real boxing fan wants to see all the best fights. What is the logic in wanting the best fighters to retire?

Hopefully the undisputed fight can now happen, it should be very easy to make. Usyk is clearly number 1 for me so it's up to Fury to try and prove himself. Usyk is already going down as an all time great - Fury isn't there yet. Let's just hope it happens, Fury previously wouldn't fight Usyk and opted for Whyte instead. He simply might not have the appetite to risk his undefeated record with Usyk which would be a shame for the sport.
