*** Joshua vs Usyk 2 ***

No he was saying you might be strong but you didn’t beat me.

That was prior to him throwing the belts out the ring! He’s lost it!!!

Watching it back, I thought he was saying the opposite - that he’s strong, and usyk isnt, so how did usyk beat him. Skills, skills win fights. Cos of skills he said. Almost said in a ‘you’ve got to be special to beat me, so fair play’ kind of way, Or something along those lines. The clip I saw has been taken down now, but whatever he said, it wasn’t as the BBC text commentary reported it. And we can all agree he definitely made a t*t of himself

At first I thought Joshua knew he was beaten but was being a nice bloke holding up the Ukrainian flag with Usyk etc. In hindsight he thought he’d won and just thought it’d look good in all the papers etc.

He then loses his head, has a hissy fit, kicks off at Usyk . Comes back then makes reference to the “civil war” in Ukraine being “not very nice”. I think he’s suggesting that Usyk for the decision because of the Ukraine situation. Tosser.

The whole rant about Reading jail etc and how tough the mean streets of Watford were was just bizarre and possibly due to a concussion. I got the impression Usyk wishes he was back on the front line rather than listening to Joshua’s bizarre meltdown.

It all screamed “me me me”.

Pretty sure he said he didn’t know much about the situation in Ukraine at one point , which is just ignorance beyond belief , at this point I would normally say I have lost all respect for Joshua , but I actually lost it after the last fight .

Going against the thread here but I actually love Joshua's passion. He lost by a couple of rounds fair and square but a couple of things stand out.

Firstly, and perhaps most importantly he was much better than the first fight which i wasted a lot of time and money attending.

Secondly he showed he has the minerals and desire and its great he's sour in defeat. In footballing terms, and perhaps quite fitting, if the start to the season stirred the same passion in our players I'd be delighted.

Look, Usyk is genuinely world class and I think its easy for some to knock Joshua. The guy didn't pick up glove until he was 18 and has done himself proud. Did he win? No. Did he do himself proud? Yes. I'd be more upset if he bowed over and accepted his inferiority. No disrespect to Usyk of course.

AJ isn't finished, Usyk is a class champion and all in all, good night. Take care lords and ladies of the Manor I'm off to indulge in a cheeky pint.
I think a lot of what you say can still be true whilst at the same time I think he was disrespectful - disrespectful to the Saudis with the language.disrespectful stealing usyks moment, dropping the belts out the ring and so on!

I’m no not sure he’s finished , I think we will see him fight Dyllian Whyte again. DAZN who paid a fortune to take him from Sky must be mortified - he’s not world champion and they have a bit of a PR job to do.

I seriously believe he was concussed at the end there.

Ps I bet DAZN are anxiously checking the small print in the contract Joshua signed not long ago for around £130m , hoping there’s a get out clause 😂😂

He was a pr*ck after the loss to Ruiz too.

Looking back , he’s not even a big puncher is he , certainly a pretty poor division flattered him .
I disagree, he's a big puncher. Can't remember if it was 9th ot 10th but he really hurt Usyk. Problem was he gassed next round.

Another masterclass from Usyk, the way he upped the pace in the 10th round after serious pressure by Joshua in the 9th was impressive.

Joshua did better than last time as he had the advantage of knowing what he had to do specifically this time round, but ultimately it still wasn't enough. He does have the punching skills to trouble Usyk but he can't sustain the pressure that would be needed without draining himself. Also, the fact that Usyk can recover quickly and massively up the tempo makes it even more difficult for Joshua.

Moving forward, it's unlikely that anyone in the heavyweight division has the necessary skills to beat Usyk at this stage. People will of course say Fury, but he isn't anyway as near as a gifted puncher as Joshua. Fury has better stamina than Joshua and has better ring IQ, but he simply doesn't have the punching ability to keep Usyk in check. He lacks the speed and explosiveness needed to put Usyk in trouble. Some will say he'll walk Usyk down and smother him, but good luck trying to do that with one of the best movers the heavyweight division has ever seen. Fury is a fairly easy night's work for Usyk - easier than Joshua.

Absolute rubbish Fury has outboxed everyone put in front of him last few years. He would beat Joshua and probably Usyk.

Yeah he said "I don't care about strong skills win boxing. You're not strong, so how did you beat me, because of skill."

I think his corner should have made sure they got him as far away as possible from the ring at that stage. He really didn't help himself with that display afterwards but he clearly wasn't in the right frame of mind to make a good decision there for many reasons.

Listening to Joshua at the press conference, he cries but I think because he is just 1 big ball of ego and thought he would walk all over Usyk. Joshua saying about him being on bail was embarrassing as Usyk now goes back to fight in the war in UA!

It really was an embarrassingly pathetic display from Joshua at the end.

Hearn or one of Joshua’s team should have tried to get the mic off him and get him out of the ring.

Were they scared of him?
