Jordan Rhodes

Did he ever score for us at The Riverside?
We got the money back for him, which was a miracle, but don't make the mistake of having another dabble, he was really poor here and has been atrocious since.

No and didn't look likely to.

Just about getting money back was the greatest bit of business since getting 2mil for Brad Jones😂

He's been on big money at Sheff wed and no doubt seriously effecting signings and FFP.

I will agree he was badly treated by AK. To sign a guy for big money and not play him is baffling. That said he's had plenty of chances to get his career back on track at Norwich and Sheff Wed.

You're wrong again like I told you millions time. I did offered you to go on Zoom but you declined because you know DAMN WELL that I'm correct on this one.

Come on don't be that idiot.

How will going on zoom prove you aren’t Boro legend? I don’t know what you look like in the first place 😂

Because I can actually prove everything here that got Derby County stuff in the background. I offered you few times which was couple of months ago. Also I have no idea who is Boro legend so don't assume that it's me which is incredible weird.

Came here for the "Karanka destroyed him" posts and it didn't disappoint 😁

Kevin de Bruyne and Mo Salah didn't play much at Chelsea and their careers have never recovered.

Always felt he deserved much more of a chance with us but when you buy a very stubborn manager a player who he doesn't want, who also doesn't fit his system that he never deviates from, who is also the nephew of his assistant coach who the stubborn manager also didn't want and probably has one eye on the stubborn manager's job, it's not going to end well.

Is hard to explain why Rhodes' career nosedived so much. For me was one of those strikers who you could see his game was never going to work at a higher level, bit like Britt. The opposite of someone like Ings or Che Adams or Callum Wilson or definitely Vardy who come from the Championship but get by with workrate and technique. Very telling that despite being a guaranteed goal machine season after season, no Premier League club ever took a punt or even seemed to be seriously looking at him.

Seems an exceptionally nice lad and would be nice to see him back in form but would I touch him with a bargepole - nope.

Agree👍

The guy scored over a 100 goals in 3 seasons and he hardly ever got linked with a move to the prem. The 'experts' used the classic 'he's just a finisher'.

I guess they were right. It's still very strange how you can go to goal machine to not hitting a barn door in the space of 3-4 seasons. You can't lose the ability to 'finish?' 🤔

I suppose it's not just about finishing ability. It's that extra bit of sharpness that gets you ahead of the defender, the desire to find space and get goals, and confidence. It's probably when a combination of those things dry up.
