Jordan Hugill

Occupational hazard, this is part and parcel of football. The question I ask myself is if Hugill hadn’t pushed Jones would his Hamstring going to go anyway? It was very soft and it could have happened regardless.
Interesting take. From where I was sat, I was surprised Isiah went off injured from it - I had just presumed he landed awkwardly or twisted it at the time though. With that said, yes it was a dirty shove off the ball, and Hugill can **** off for it.

On a side note - I find it strange how the people usually calling Isiah a league one player at best have disappeared today. Not pointing any fingers because I don't take much note of usernames but he usually has more naysayers.

i didn’t see it

edit: but tbf greenwood has a bit of that about him. his fouls are so irritating sometimes because it’s like, why?
The reason I mentioned it is Greenwood went out to deliberately hurt his opponent and Hugill didn't. I don't agree with either players actions but Hugill as been called black and blue and yet there is no mention of Greenwood's deliberate assault on a fellow professional.

With Hughill I’ve said on another thread that as dirty as the push was there is no way he set out to injure Isaiah and he did immediately apologise.

I think the Boro externally is seen as such a tight knit club that our ex players or players from the area feel they have to show they are being professional and giving their all against us.

Greening has that angry player, on the edge of boiling over, about him. It's difficult with players like that, because the aggression is part of their game.

This is a stupid thread. It was a clumsy niggly push in the back, that any one of our midfield players is capable of doing, in any game, in any given week.

This was just a forward making his presence felt. Yes, it was a foul.

Of course Hugill didn't expect Jones could be injured. How often does a push in the back result in a player, being injured at all - let alone, missing the next match?

If you gave a yellow card for every push in the back, no game would finish with 22 players and every corner would result in a pen.
Don’t think it’s stupid at all but thanks for your input. I can’t be doing with dirty diving cheats who injure our players and they claim to be huge Boro fans.

Jones seems an up and down sort of player, it didnt seem like something that would lead to him coming off, he must have seen Bangura ar$e fall out after slight push in the back. Just my opinion you understand but I think we have a few who look for an easy way out when it suits them.

Sorry but what the actual f*** are you going on about, you're saying Jones faked an injury so he couldn't play in a Semi Final, and Bangura did the same whilst he was actually playing in a Semi Final.
The utterly stupid horses*** people come out with on here sometimes. Jesus wept.

I thought it looked very innocuous at the time as he was in the middle and I was looking from the north stand. But he's out for 8 weeks now, so I was well out of order, I've had a hamstring playing myself, hurts like hell and is quite debilitating, you can barely walk. However I admit it was a cheap shot really, perhaps tinged with disappointment but thats no excuse. I rate him as a player, and was thinking early on in the season it looked like he didnt want to play for us. But he had his reasons that we didnt know about.

Greenwood plays for boro Hugill doesn't easy as

Greenwood was a bit of bite and I like to see that in players.. Hugill has a bit of that.. but he seems to concentrate more on that side of his game than anything else.. constantly dropping to his knees for us was frustrating to watch.

Don't understand your angle here. Surely you either think they were both trying to hurt their opponent or were both just being a bit physical to get a reaction? Why is Greenwoods deliberate and Hugills not?

Hugills was a push, Greenwood’s was an elbow to the ribs.

Totally different levels of violence and risk of injury, even though it worked the opposite way this time around.
