Jones signs for Luton

Gutted. Can't shake the feeling that it's the sale you make if you've given up on this season and your focus is to build for next year.
If we sold Lath and Doak was let go then you might have a case but selling a sub player releasing a spot for a replacement definitely doesn't.

That’s working on the assumption we’re looking for a replacement. I think it’s more likely we’ll be looking for Hamilton to step up and Forss to recover.

Same sentiment as many others on the thread, I wish Izzy nothing but the best and hope he and his family have a great future. Always gave of his best, even if it didn’t always come off. Lots of good memories. I dont think he was forced out and the move obviously suits him. As for us, well we must feel we have this covered. I always feel we are prepared for everything now so I am sure it has been all thought through.

Only makes sense if you think

( A ) Forss can stay fit untill at least half term
( B) Doaks a guaranteed starter ( and rightly so at 15 mill + ) , and stays fit till end of the season
( C) Hamilton can be the 10 to 15 min sub , or fill Jones's boots if Doak gets injured .

I appreciate the effort that Jones has gave , and in the best moments of recent years.. he was a big part of .
He'll get a strong clap from me when we play next ( unless he goes down too easily in the box 😁 )

Good luck Izzy lad👍

I'm surprised by a few negative comments. A proper old school ' Roy of the Rovers ' type player. You don't see none league to championship / prem these days.

I felt the same about Lewis Wing. He cost us nothing and we've got 3mil (rising to 5mil). Absolutely nothing negative about this move for both parties.

He's had off field issues. Also lack of game time due to Doak. The lad needs a new challenge. Also moving back down south could be of benefit after past ' issues '.

The time under Warnock and Wilder were crazy to think where he came from. Him and Spence were hands down the best Right wingbacks in the championship that season. We could actually have cashed in on both.

and there's a space in the squad for Silvera. Not suggesting that's necessarily a good thing but it's possible that it might happen especially if we can't get a replacement.

Or if another player is brought in to cover Doak
