JEREMY CORBYN SUSPENDED FROM LABOUR

I think the issue is that many Corbyn supporters exist in a bubble. Any personality cult is always a bad thing, because it leads to unthinking, uncritical, unswerving 'our leader can do no wrong' dogmatism.

My cousin is a member of the Labour party and posted this on Facebook. Seems he's now considering leaving the party, and I'd imagine there's other Corbyn 'supporters' who may do the same.

"I'm tempted but not yet; there is still no viable alternative, it does nothing to serve the people we want to help to fracture among the 5 or 6 different groups people are fracturing into. I can still do more within the party than I can on my own.
If I'm honest though, the thin thread that my membership has hung on for a while now is starting to wear even thinner. It's becoming increasingly difficult to keep putting my heart and soul into a party that seems to increasingly want rid of me.
I'll be pushed before I jump though."

Corbyn's comments and actions left Starmer with either being seen to condone JC's views which would have left the party open to attack on not being tough on antisemitism despite the report or remove the whip.
Corbyn by his comments and his actions, accepted the report and condemned the level of anti-Semitism in the Labour party. Nothing to ruffle Starmer's feathers. He then used the guidelines set out in the report to highlight the gross exaggerations of the level of anti-Semitism in the party by the UK media and political opponents...

The general public it was found, were of the impression that one third (200,000 at the time of the study) members of the party had accusations of A/S against them. The correct figure was 0.3% or 2,000. This represents an increase of 9,900%

something that Starmer and every Labour member should be endeavouring to do.

Yup, the establishment have carved up billions of pounds since "austerity" with the help of the Israeli murder machine and the USA oil war machine. We now have two scum tories "opposed" in this ridiculous matrix. For you clown working class tories, you don't know what you have done. They are not a political party, but a sophisticated psych ops team that works for shady billionaires. Their billionaire mates who own the dirge you consume, persuaded you, a gentleman, who wanted to take on the war machines, the billionaires, the huge tax havens and raise your standards of living was dangerous. How's that working out for you all?

And yet there's posts on this very thread that very openly put forward the views that:

1) despite Starmer not putting forward any policies, we should just trust he's a socialist,

2) despite it going against the EHRCs
report saying the leader shouldn't get involved in complaints it's right for Starmer to have done so,

3) despite Starmer's only real involvement in a general election being his part in the 2019 brexit policy that we ought to have faith hes this mega electable victory magnet.

Who are meant to be the cultists again?

For the best part of five years, the Labour Party was effectively the Jeremy Corbyn Party. It was all about him, his supporters sanctified him, he could have dealt with the anti-semitism problem years ago. Instead he allowed his party to become a personality cult, reflecting his flaws and his failings.

To see the Labour Party found guilty of anti-semitism by an independent enquiry while he was its leader should surely have elicited a little humility and an apology. His response has been, once again, all about him and be damned to the Labour Party he claims to support.

You're reading into article 10 as if it covers his comments in regards to the Labour party.

He did not accept its findings in full and blamed the media plus others for exaggerating antisemitism leaving him and Labour open to further criticism which he will have been more than aware of.

I believe what he said, however he did not do enough to stop the waves of slander and allowed this to run rife with very little challenge and certainly not enough to convince a majority to vote for him. He has to bare some responsibility for that fact as he was the leader of the party.

Whether morally right or wrong he left Starmer with no choice.

As I've said on many occasions, I supported Corbyn and his policies, however he is not infallible and made grave mistakes which ultimately cost him a heavy election defeat and Labour needs to move on from this saga if it is to defeat this deplorable government.

I disagree. It was a socialist party. It had policies. Yes he was popular with the membership but the cult allegation was always bogus. The popularity was based on him being the leader to finally swing the party behind the policies members had wanted for years but told we weren't allowed to talk about.

What you have now is much more of a personality cult. No matter what Starmer says there's an automatic "that was forensic" reflex in his supporters.

To see the Labour Party found guilty of anti-semitism by an independent enquiry while he was its leader

This isn't what the report says or even what it's supposed to say. It's an audit of the party's complaints procedure, not a verdict in a court case.

So the choice is the tories or tory lite now. It’s interesting how people attack the individual rather than the policies. It was always going to be the way once we were out of the EU. Independence and a socialist government was never going to be accepted.
