Corbyn by his comments and his actions, accepted the report and condemned the level of anti-Semitism in the Labour party. Nothing to ruffle Starmer's feathers. He then used the guidelines set out in the report to highlight the gross exaggerations of the level of anti-Semitism in the party by the UK media and political opponents...Corbyn's comments and actions left Starmer with either being seen to condone JC's views which would have left the party open to attack on not being tough on antisemitism despite the report or remove the whip.
The general public it was found, were of the impression that one third (200,000 at the time of the study) members of the party had accusations of A/S against them. The correct figure was 0.3% or 2,000. This represents an increase of 9,900%
I think the issue is that many Corbyn supporters exist in a bubble. Any personality cult is always a bad thing, because it leads to unthinking, uncritical, unswerving 'our leader can do no wrong' dogmatism.
And yet there's posts on this very thread that very openly put forward the views that:
1) despite Starmer not putting forward any policies, we should just trust he's a socialist,
2) despite it going against the EHRCs
report saying the leader shouldn't get involved in complaints it's right for Starmer to have done so,
3) despite Starmer's only real involvement in a general election being his part in the 2019 brexit policy that we ought to have faith hes this mega electable victory magnet.
Who are meant to be the cultists again?

For the best part of five years, the Labour Party was effectively the Jeremy Corbyn Party. It was all about him, his supporters sanctified him, he could have dealt with the anti-semitism problem years ago. Instead he allowed his party to become a personality cult, reflecting his flaws and his failings.
To see the Labour Party found guilty of anti-semitism by an independent enquiry while he was its leader
Excellent article
