Jamie Patterson

I imagine he's 'better suited' at Swansea. They always play decent football.

Probably have too many defensive duties for us.

Paterson signed for Swansea on the 6th of August, at that point the only attacking players we'd signed were Crooks, Ameobi and Ikpeazu.

Ameobi was injured immediately too.

I'm happy with Hernandez as a signing, and Jones looks like a real find too, so I'm not too distressed that we rejected him, but we were not flush with options when we did decided against signing him.

You don't know what options we had, you only know the signings we'd made. You weren't privvy to any ongoing negotiations that the club were involved in.

we weren't but we obviously had other irons in the fire, personally not that fussed that we didn't get him

I watched those two friendlies too, and on the evidence we saw, he was a no go.

Put it down to fitness, or whatever you like, but the simple fact was, he was terrible and on those performances, he wasn't worth a place on the bench, let alone a first 11 shirt.
He shouldnt have played to be fair after turning his ankle just before the tour. Couldnt really judge him on those 2 games.
