If you say this to him he just says this isn't AmericaYou do know how parliamentary majority’s work though don’t you. You might not have voted Boris directly but you you gave him the mandate and ammunition to fire.

Well not really. Let's agree to disagree. No you said you didn’t vote for boris and that’s technically true but your MP constituency vote added to his majority so you gave him the mandate green light to strengthen his grip on parliament.
plus the fact every candidate (not just elected mp) has to sign Boris pledge in order to stand as a Tory candidate in effect meant that you WERE voting for boris.
Just bringing the thread back to Jacinda Ardern, don't be surprised to see her get voted out this September. NZ, like the UK, leans slightly more to the conservative (with a little c) and labour generally only get voted in when people are fed up with the lack of spending on public services (Health, welfare etc).
She, and the Health dept, are getting a bit of a beating at the moment over letting out some of the quarantine people without a test (most were after the 14 days quarantine, but x55 were on compassionate). All but x4 (I think) of the x55 have been found and tested, all negative so far. We still don't have any community transmission here, yet, and fingers crossed we don't. We've got x10 active cases so far, all in quarantine, so it seems to be working.
Read somewhere the other day that WHO don't think we will have a vaccine, which is available to the all in the world, until 2 1/2 years time. Going to be a long time.
I remain hopeful that people will see through the bluster of the National Party, the lead will narrow over time, but the arguments now are who is best to take us forward, its the old Blue good with money red bad with money, but the last 25 years of stats do not bear this out.I would be shocked frankly. The latest Roy Morgan poll has the Labour Party well up on the National party - by over 20 points in fact. And the National party leader Scott Muller is lacking a bit of oomph to say the least.

What is unimpressive about her?It currently does appear that she is the most popular NZ leader in a century and they are indeed 20 points clear.
I maintain that I find her unimpressive.
Seems she's not the inspiration some claim she is.Seems her s**t stinks after all.
Great news again for her and the people of New Zealand.
I think this BBC report might be slightly less biased and vitriolic than the far right exremists that are Right To Life - "From now abortions will be rightly treated as a health issue,"
New Zealand passes law decriminalising abortion
I'm definitely not Catholic. Don't believe in religion."For more than 40 years, abortion was the only medical procedure considered a crime in New Zealand - unless it was performed under exceptional circumstances.
The legislative vote in parliament was labelled a "conscience issue", meaning that MPs did not have to vote along party lines.
The reform bill, issued by Jacinda Ardern's government, means that a woman no longer has to be assessed by a health practitioner for mental or physical wellbeing before 20 weeks."
Maybe you are a catholic. But I believe that it should not be a crime to have an abortion.
Zoophonic the right to life organization have willfuly mislead. Let me give you an example, the part about no legal requirement to give a late aborted baby medical care or pain medication. that is true of everyone in the UK. A doctor is under no legal obligation to give pain medication, or indeed any reatment at all to anybody. There is, you might argue, a moral obligation, but no legal obligation. I assume the same is true in NZ. The bill simply brings NZ in line with the western world. The new law will allow a woman to obtain an abortion on demand up to 20 weeks into a pregnancy. Beyond that point, abortion would be legal only if the health practitioner reasonably believes that the abortion is clinically appropriate in the circumstances. I dont see a problem with that personally.
I understand the right to life lobby do but they clearly have triggered their support somewhat without them diving into the detail.
