It simply has to be addressed otherwise these chancers and con-men are simply going benefit from people's unhappiness over and over again. I've had my rants about 'the gig economy' (false self employment) and zero hours contracts on here before and don't intend to repeat them but these employment models need to be outlawed. Those firms like HerFair points, people wanted cheaper stuff (and more of it) from the 80's on , plus what about labour costs?I often wonder if it really would have been economically viable to maintain an industrial sector in the west when the labour costs in other places are so much lower
'Economists for Brexit' openly admitted that Brexit would be the final death knell for British industry but we just needed to accept it. I don't think we should. In the current 'difficulty' it was interesting to note the vast range of basic stuff we needed but didn't manufacture anymore. Needless to say other countries either weren't keen to release essential supplies or prices shot up astronomically.
