Israeli hostages taken in Gaza

They’ve lit the touch paper on a very volatile area of the world. How now now do the likes of Egypt Iran etc react oh yes and the USA.

USA are sending Israel munitions as well as sending extra troops to the region. Those troops I expect are to stave off Iran from assisting.

It’s a sh1t show, Isreal makes life intolerable for Palestinian people and they fight back against that and are branded terrorists.

The world is imploding on itself

It'll be the terrorism that's got the attackers branded as terrorists.

Indiscriminately gunning down innocent people at a music festival, brutally murdering people in the street, taking hostages and torturing people...

It's not all Palestinian people, but the Hamas insurgents that started these attacks are 100% terrorists.

The fact the Israeli government is frequently committing awful acts of its own doesn't change that.

Aye, but the terrorists created Israel and they've been indiscriminately murdering people for how long?

Very sad isn't it.

Let’s be clear, every Jew in Israel would be slaughtered if these people get their way.

Don't think there's much point in trying to paint it as goodies and baddies. The sentiment is mutual on both sides.

Have a look at the UNs stats. Since 2008 Israel have killed twenty times as many as the Palestinians. They're the occupying force, and the ones that force Palestinians out their homes to make space for their right of return policy.

It's an oversimplification to say its just "Fundamentalist Islamic antisemitism".

I'm just watching the BBC news on catch-up.

Its horrible, but their bias for the apartheid Israeli state is incredible and are labelling the Palestinians terrorists in all this.

They reckon its a conflict going back 100 years, No it isn't. It started in 1947 when the British broke their promise to Palestine.

Heartening to see how many people on here are clued up on the history of Israel/Palestine and not falling for media propaganda.

Violence is never a good thing, and one can only worry about the backlash that will inevitably follow as superpower Israel unleashes it's nuclear power on civilians in Gaza. This could get really messy if the west and the middle east get involved and possibly the beginning of another world war.

Fundamentalist Islamic antisemitism in action.

Let’s be clear, every Jew in Israel would be slaughtered if these people get their way. Anyone who has been to Palestine knows this.

I've been to the refugee camps in Lebanon. I've been to Beirut several times. It is a mixing pot of religions and creeds going back thousands of years who have learnt over time to get along peacefully.

There has always been Jews in Palestine and the holy land.

The Zionists are now the Nazis. The elder Jewish leaders don't endorse Zionism.

Absolutely agree 100% but the world powers have turned the other way in the last few years as the far right Netanyahu has made life a nightmare for Palestinians and the democratically elected hamas have finally bitten back, in an abhorrent way but it was entirely predictable 🤷‍♂️

The western powers and media are in the pockets of the Israelis. Just look at the hounding out of pacifist Jeremy Corban. I'm sure a lot of people actually think he's a terrorist.

Anyone who is sympathetic to the Israeli cause should listen to the great Jewish thinker Noel Chomsky's take on it.

Fighting back = indiscriminate murder and kidnapping of civilians. Brilliant 👍🏼

The end justifies the means I guess.
There are plenty of people who want Ukraine to stop fighting back against the Russian aggressor, because 'peace', but the vast majority understand who is (attempting) to oppress who.

Israel has been increasing hostilities in all the occupied territories for the past few years. They don't hit military targets. The indiscriminate murder of civilians is awful, full stop. Whether it's Russia, Hamas, or Isreal.
