Absolute hogswash this like.

There are hardly any Sunderland fans in stockton. It is very much a boro town.

You must be Steve Gibson?
 
Some of our fans are bellends though coming out with stuff like that. A very large portion of season ticket holders are from Stockton on tees, in the thousands. There isn’t thousands of season ticket holders at Sunderland from Stockton.

I never had a Sunderland fan in my school. All Boro and the odd glory fan. All mates from different school Boro fans. All family Boro fans.

I acknowledge and accept you are probably right and I am mistaken. It doesn't mean you have to resort to describing people who may voice a different view as 'bellends'

This is a reason I don't come on this board very often now. Some are very quick to abuse and insult using language like this.

Not mature debating language.

I think that is a bellend thing to say. Same as when Steve Gibson said it. It’s factually wrong. Maybe if you came on the board more you would know there is plenty from Stockton on here and thousands of season ticket holders.

Pop along too the Mackem board now an again too, and you will see that there is 1 regarded poster on there known has Hank Williams. Guess why he’s famous on there? Cos he’s a rarity, a poster from Teesside who supports Sunderland. And that’s a board that has a lot more posters than this one.
 
I remember Gibson saying “we know” most people in Stockton support Sunderland. The old board went into meltdown. It was mentioned on the Mackem board as well.

It was a bizarre thing for Gibson to say. Based on what exactly I don’t know. The only town with a TS postcode that isn’t Boro is Hartlepool. It is debatable if Hartlepool is even Teesside too.

It was directed at me personally clearly, so no point trying to backtrack. I doubt I will be coming on here much more now tbh. As I said i've experienced abuse previously and seen others insulted for no reason at all which is a reason I don't visit as often.

I struggle with depression and low self esteem and my confidence is quite fragile atm so I need to protect myself from uncalled for insults.

The majority of posters have been respectful and willing to disagree without resorting to belittling language and im grateful for that.

It was a ridiculous comment snd a massive PR own goal my mate still hasn’t forgiven him ( a gold st like me).

The reason why it was so ludicrous is that the boro themselves were largely based in Norton during Robbo’s era via the ici hotel.

Very insulting and not wise.
