I can picture him in a Boro shirt posting on here after a big defeat. Always the ref's fault.

All clubs have fans like that. Their message board if full of abuse for the ref and suggestions he was bent.

No mention that Neill should have been sent off for his first yellow, the two handed push in Crooks back in the box or that Jones got a yellow for a clean tackle.

So you can say the ref was poor but certainty not bias.

All that said, they are rightly upset at the manner of the defeat. Even with 10 you shouldn’t get pummelled like that.

The lad seems a decent enough fella and when he’s calmed down you could probably have a decent chat with him about the match.

His missus prediction of Jason Roberts scoring was brilliant. The look he gave her and the cut to the next section was definitely left in for comedy value

From what I have seen and experienced there seems to be a fairly even split in Stockton between Boro and Blunderland fans. Maybe Boro edge it. Middlesbrough and Redcar, Guisborough, East Cleveland are very strong Boro bases. Boros Heartland.

Most of the way down the coast to Whitby its Boro, with some Leeds from Staithes/Hinderwell and then from Whitby its a large Leeds following. They have regular fan coaches from Whitby to watch Leeds I believe.

A very unscientific research finding I admit.
