Is this a sign that Clayton is leaving?

Certianly looks that way. It’s hardly a surprise though, even under Pulis he was in and out of the team and Woodgate again in and out and Warnock just simply out. The Karanka years and been a good servant are what Clayton will be remembered for and the fact he’s stuck around to finish the season was good of him. Wish him well but I suspect his next move will be at a worse side than us.
 
Yes, great servant, will always remember his role in the 2014-2016 side very fondly. Since then it’s been a real mixed bag for him and I think as much time for him to move on as it is for the club to. Could see him ending up at Blackburn actually, but he’ll be lucky to maintain his wage wherever he goes. He’s the right age for a 2-3 year deal somewhere though.
 
Loved his partnership with Grant, together they were superb. AK deserves credit for making that relationship work, especially as he came as an attacking m/f.

I like Clayton and feel he is better than some credit. Nevertheless we need to evolve. I wish him well in the future unless it is v Boro. He was absolutely the expert at taking one for the team.

Well said Col. Them 3 players have took responsibility and that’s all you can ask for when you find yourselves in dire situations. Would like them all 3 here playing a part next season

Haha Maybe a newly promoted club or someone going down possibly like Barnsley. I think he likes it up North and he seems settled in Harrogate so Barnsley could be realistic if they are interested in him. I’m sure he’s at the age now where he knows his peak years are behind him and he will just want to go and play football for someone

So his legs have gone as some say but he could end up with a move to someone like Blackburn on a two to three year deal. A team that had been positioned higher than us all season. That makes no sense.
 
He will be remembered fondly by the vast majority of Boro fans for his services despite the dip in form in the last couple of years. His partnership with Grant in the two promotion chasing seasons under Karanka will go down in memory with a generation of Boro fans for being the best in the division. I also feel he will always have time for the club and area when he moves on and into his retirement, he's spent a six years here, that's a long time in modern football, most likely made some friendships for life.

Wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his career and look forward to the day he pops up on the Soccer Saturday vidiprinter for finally scoring a goal. (y)

I have to say I couldn't agree less.
Those three should be moved on.
 
Life shake-up that football can bring is no joke? Meanwhile in the real world of the masses...
I realise things are all relative but come on... They'll be fine for brass.
