Is Rogers any good?

I feel like he’s going to be someone who splits opinion.

Some will say he’s terrible and won’t budge.

Some will say there’s a player in there for the whole time he’s here.

I say let’s just wait and see. I’ve seen some things from him I like and some things that need sharpening up.

Lovely footballer like a lot of our players, will cause teams problems but needs to get goal contributions before fans will get off his back.

He's very young, players generally don't score a lot at that age unless they're very special like an Archer. I think it's one of those where we all expected a promotion push this season and he clearly isn't up to that yet but if we accept that it's a growing season where we're probably going to finish midtable, play some nice football and develop our own players then he obviously fits.

You are asking a player that would have been a sub at best in our squad last year to come into the first team and run the attack like Chuba did, but then your asking him to do it with three other novices at this level.

It’s madness
I'm just asking that he hits the target or gets a decent shot off once in a while. I don't think that's much to ask.

Early days but he just doesn't look a threat at all. Shouldn't be starting at this level.

He wasn't great yesterday but I think the general consensus on here last week was he was good v Huddersfield (and indeed had chances to score therefore looking a threat).

From what I've seen of him he's got the technical ability, athleticism and physique of a forward. But he doesn't look comfortable and 'natural' as a forward. He wants too long on the ball to get a shot away, he doesn't strike it cleanly and instinctively at goal. He may get better at this, he may not. He's definitely not the answer as a starter for a team pushing for the play-offs, but he may develop into a good squad player and eventual starter. The fact we are starting him in place of either Archer with Crook supporting him, or instead of Akpom as a 10 makes his weaknesses look much more glaring.

I'm praying we sign an upgrade and he's introduced slowly and allowed to grow into the team.

Over a season I think he'd score a similar amount to Jones & McGree, but not as many as you would expect from Forss.

Think he could be good if he finds a bit of consistency and gets a nice run in position Chuba played. I thought when he moved there in the second half against Coventry he looked good. It gets lost cause of the final score but I thought there were lot of signs that if he can keep that going he could fill Akpom's boots nicely, probably won't get nearly 30 goals like Akpom did, but there was some nice dribbling, movement, creating chances there that, as I say, gets lost when you look at a 3-0 scoreline.
