Johnson is an effective clown as long as there’s a ringmaster to take ultimate control, once he’s given full responsibility for running the circus it’s out of his skill set. He’s not got the attention to detail required.

We have no idea about the background data that the government receives , it's impossible to make 100% right decisions all the time.

I don’t disagree that smoking should be banned but it is different to this virus in that smoking mostly affects the health of those who choose to smoke. The virus is indiscriminate and worse in that a doctor or nurse won’t die from treating a lung cancer victim, you can’t catch the lung disease from a smoker.
But Johnson or the government failing to act in time with this virus and not protecting the NHS frontline properly is without doubt a criminal act under the law of this country.

All this is not helping anything. Government were slow to react (maybe by 3 weeks),we also need to look at ourselves.
The Friday the lockdown was announced it was party night, idiots knowingly going out with this deadly virus kicking about.
The weekend later the sun comes out, so do the idiots, coughing in peoples faces, travelling hundreds of miles to visit 2nd
homes. You cant blame the government for our own actions we need to get a grip.

I'm not sure I fully agree with that. Look at certain parts of the USA ( where I live) and how trump has stoked the 'liberate' demonstration s.b

But smoking would be illegal , full stop. The level of compliance would soon improve.

But all evidence points to the contrary, drug abuse around the world is rife, and prohibition didn't work in the USA. Add to that the ease of purchasing cigarettes abroad, there would very quickly become an easy supply of cigarettes. Also you didn't address freedom of choice and the fact that a smoker cannot infect others. The governments tackling of smoking is about right with the reduction generation by generation in smoking. It's a poor argument same as, and I think you know that.

Leadership of this country has been desperately incompetent for as long as I can remember. Isn’t there one decent intelligent human being who can give this country the leadership it desperately needs? I get angrier and angrier that Corbyn allowed Johnson a free hit. My anger is nothing to do with whether Corbyn was good or bad but that he knew he was unelectable but still carried on into disaster. Johnson is a clueless clown who was given the keys to the kingdom when he was incapable of combining his hair let alone running a country. He has the blood of tens of thousands on his hands but May and Cameron share the blame for the dire state the NHS was left in on their watch. Nobody wins here - everybody loses but as the usual the poorest and weakest pay the biggest price - horrible
