Is anyone else loving the heat?

It had pro’s and con’s. Great to spend time with my son in the garden, he absolutely loves the paddling pool. Downside is the sleep situation, we’ve had to go for a drive with the air con on past 2 nights to get him to sleep.

One things for sure, I much prefer summer to winter.
Surely you could spend time with your son in the garden at much lower temperatures? What are the benefits of doing it in near 40 degree heat?

Same as the op, shorts can be worn and ice creams bought at much lower temperatures. What's the net benefit of such extreme temperatures?

My car thermometer read 40 degrees just between Great Ayton and Nunthorpe today. I can't recall anywhere I've been - and I'm relatively well travelled , especially throughout Europe in the summer months - where it has been that hot. The idea of 40 degrees in the UK is terrifying.

Well quite. And for someone who struggles with mental health I’m not gonna apologise. Guess you don’t. Lucky you.

There you go again, jumping down my throat and making assumptions. In the interest or transparency, I am lucky. I feel lucky that I’m still here for related reasons I won’t go into. It’s not a competition and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

I should be able to enjoy things like a freakishly hot day, without being told my post ‘annoyed’ you.

Although I don’t agree that mental health issues mean you get a pass for poor behaviour, I don’t need or want an apology.

All I ask is in future, don’t make assumptions on somebody, it’s not kind, and if you see something you don’t like just scroll on past instead of trying to make the poster feel like *****. I’ll extend you the same courtesy.

Mate I already feel **** about myself.
So with respect tittle off and enjoy the 40 degree heat
Cos no other sod is.

Well I live in Redcar and I couldn’t think of anything worse than going to the beach or waiting in a long queue for an ice cream that would melt before you get your change back!

Seen folk queuing up for the local chippy at 9:30 tonight… just get yourself home!

Struggling in bed now, fan blasting but it’s not enough, looking forward to waking up and it being slightly cooler.

We are in the garden rain or shine and have been in the paddling pool for weeks but often it cools off not long after I’ve got home from work. Going in the pool at 38 degrees is more of a necessity really but it’s been very enjoyable for me to finish work and spend the whole evening up to bedtime in the pool.

Like I said, it has pro’s and cons. I’m assuming you can only see the cons. Heat to me in the U.K is the current heatwave we’ve experienced with temps over mid 20s, the OP didn’t specifically reference the temps we witnessed Tuesday.
