Indoor gigs (Ash)

After having postponed their tour a few times already they’re gonna go ahead with their shows over the next few weeks, which seems quite irresponsible, in my opinion. There’s no way I’m standing in a small room crammed in with a few thousand other people.

Fingers crossed that they’ll postpone again but if not it’ll be a shame as I’ve got 2 tickets to see them, however, there’s no chance I’m going while COVID rates are climbing again.

I’ve also got tickets for Pearl Jam, Faith No More, and Brian Cox, who have all postponed their shows until the middle of next year, so hopefully Ash will follow suit as they’re one of the only bands of my youth that I’ve not seen yet.

Good luck with anyone trying to get a few thousand people in a small room.

You might think it's irresponsible but many venues/bands/fans don't and are happy to get out and about again.

Its your choice whether to go or not, just get a refund if you don't want to go.

Agreed 👍🏻

I’d not thought about getting a refund. 🤦🏻‍♂️

My mate said he might be able to take the tickets off my hands, if he can’t I’ll look into getting a refund.

I saw Ash in Washington DC in a tiny venue about 4 years ago. They were still awesome live.
That’s good to hear, a couple of my favourite bands aren’t the same nowadays due to the singer’s voices going (I’m looking at you Axl Rose)

I’ll definitely go to see them at some point in the future, just not this time.

I had tickets to see them but can't go and am gutted. To be honest the only reason I was going was to hear them play a life less ordinary and they probably won't even play it.

You've got to get on with life sometime. Pretty much everyone who is going to get a jab has had at least one. If you've been double jabbed this is as good as it's going to get.

I'm going to see Little Man Tate at KU in a few weeks, not quite on the same scale as Ash but my first indoor gig in two years. I am double vaccinated so think it's perhaps time to give it a go.

And I would be going to see Ash in a heart beat, seen them god knows how many times and they have never disappointed.

As people say its the choice of the individual.

Went to see "Rumours of Fleetwood Mac" at the Darlington Hippodrome (nee Civic Theatre) this week. My first gig since Feb 2020 and it felt a little strange at first but I'm double vaxxed and I had CV19 back in October so I reckon I'm as safe as it is possible to be. I can understand people being reluctant to go but I think the odds are just about in my favour. I mitigated the risk by not using the bar (which was packed) and basically stayed in my seat.

I’ve been double-jabbed and I was thinking of staying right at the back near the doors so perhaps there’d be a bit of ventilation but I’m still very wary about it all. I’ve had breathing problems in the past (nothing serious but quite scary nonetheless) and I have a 6-year-old son, who I’m probably *too* protective of so unfortunately on this occasion I can’t will myself to go. I’m definitely gonna see Ash at some point though. Guaranteed. 👍🏻
