Even if they brought it in last week it is once again way too lateOne recent flight from India had 50 people infected, and yet we will wait til Friday.

This is unbelievable. As they were aware this country (NZ) spotted the issue 9 days ago and took inmediate action and barred fkights from entering. The incompetent Government in the UK meanwhile continued to keep India off the Red List for over a week and when they did decide to follow not only havent done so immediately but given advanced warning so more can rush back with false documents of negative tests. the UK Government are a laughing stock over here too.Johnson not going now
Like I said you couldn't make it up could youThis is unbelievable. As they were aware this country (NZ) spotted the issue 9 days ago and took inmediate action and barred fkights from entering. I read regionalised rules could be coming back. So its back to blaming particular towns and communities for this global crisis that governments can't get a grip of.and after delaying putting India on the red list and not securing quarantine properly thay are now blaming the spread of the Indian variant on ppl not getting vaccinated
Please tell me that’s not true now?Yet we let flights from India fly in with no quarantine
I was going to say that NZ is so lucky to have a brilliant PM in Jacinda Ardern at the helm. Please tell me that’s not true now?
That quote in Parliament from the Government is not only a blatant lie, it’s also illogical. On April 9th New Zealand not only recognised the danger of passengers from India it completely banned incoming travellers from India. The Government here took some flak from right wingers for doing so but they were absolutely correct. Worth thinking about that again April 9th when travellers from India were recognised as a great danger so passengers originating from India were banned from flying to NZ but the UK continued to keep India on the green list until April 23rd!!! A full 14 days later.
Just incredible.
Operation blame the general public in full effectand after delaying putting India on the red list and not securing quarantine properly thay are now blaming the spread of the Indian variant on ppl not getting vaccinated
Could you forward that to the tory cabinet, they seems to be some confusionThis appears to be the actual timeline of events.
“The Indian variant was a variant of interest for the WHO since 16/04. On the same day 77 cases of the variant were found in England. On the 19/04 BJ announced India would be put on the red list, which happened on the 23/04”
The fact that India was reporting 200,000 cases a day by the 16th should have been enough to have placed India on the Red List straight away - surely the figure of infected people in the UK at the time or what type of virus was involved was irrelevant. This appears to be the actual timeline of events.

In a few weeks I’ll be coming back to the Uk. I land at Heathrow Terminal 2 where I hope I won’t be herded into a queue with flight arrivals from India who will need to go into MIQ. Because that would be criminally insane.2 flights from India arrived yesterday, and 2 more today.
From reports it appears there is no filtering system to separate passengers in the baggage, or immigration areas. Still.
I'm in much the same boat - I have a flight booked for late July into terminal 5.In a few weeks I’ll be coming back to the Uk.
