I remember watching the earlier test matches, when they had crowds in, it was odd that they all seemed to be put in a few sections, not much social distancing and quite a few sections were totally empty.
Yes but we have a window into China through Hong Kong - they have had only 209 deaths. China will not open up the borders with and from Hong Kong until there are no cases. I know from family in Hong Kong lockdown Chinese style means total lockdown not as in India where millions of people mixed together at a religious festival and then returned to every corner of India. Just like Spanish Flu epidemic being spread all over Europe from returning troops from WWI.China also says they've only had 4,636 deaths during the whole pandemic, despite feeling the need to have military enforced lockdowns across the country, I'd trust their figures about as far as I could throw them, though I doubt the true figure is anywhere near as bad as India's is likely to end up.

Yes. Sadly there will be lots of people dying who don’t get anywhere near a hospital. My friend Khadim was explaining to me this week how the picture is far, far worse than we see. He said we keep hearing interviews on tv but only the upper classes can speak English. He said the lower castes are not even allowed to use some of the hospitals. The picture could be horrendously bleak away from the higher income groups.

Yes. Will be the case in the Philippines too.I think this will be the case all over the world, sadly.
There were certainly horror stories coming out of Peru, and the issues in Brazil are well documented.
News said yesterday that it was differing variants in different areas. One area being the Indian but in another part of the country the main variant was the Kent variant. This Indian variant is concerning....much more transmissible and affecting younger people.
Well in China they’ve lost approximately 9 people per day on average since the pandemic began. 9! In a country of 1.4bn!One bloke that was interviewed said he was doing up to 10 cremations a day a few weeks ago... the last few days he has been doing 100... and this was just one small area of Mumbai.
the official numbers just don’t stack up
The type of obvious move that we were shown incapable of making last year and why we have over 150,000 deaths in our much smaller population.Australia has in the last couple of days stopped all incoming flights from India leaving about thirty eight thousand
Indian- Australians stranded.
Feel very sorry for them but I think it did need to happen to prevent further outbreaks here.
Cheaper to police.I remember watching the earlier test matches, when they had crowds in, it was odd that they all seemed to be put in a few sections, not much social distancing and quite a few sections were totally empty.
clearly their numbers are nonsense. But getting people to adhere to rules in china is probably a lot easier than in India.China also says they've only had 4,636 deaths during the whole pandemic, despite feeling the need to have military enforced lockdowns across the country, I'd trust their figures about as far as I could throw them, though I doubt the true figure is anywhere near as bad as India's is likely to end up.
