The two things are unrelated, cost of living crisis and a war in Ukraine. Our government should be able to chew gum and walk at the same time. They should be dealing with both situations, thats why we have ministerial posts.
Johnson jumped on the Ukraine bandwagon to further his political ambition and curry favour when he was loosing a grip on the tory party. I don't really care why he supplied arms, only that he did. Sometimes bad people do good things for the wrong reasons. As AM said, our response to the refugee arm of the crisis was appalling, but it was appalling because the tories think thats what their voting base want. Their voting base needs to tell them they don't want that.
The cost of living crisis in this country should be managed also. We have plenty of cash slopping round our economy so that people don't have to go hungry or cold. It's the bare minimum a government should do, feed, house and protect its citizens. Anyone who suggests we should help those at home before Ukraine are falling into the tory trap of blaming the wrong people for what ails us. Divide, distract and set brother against sister. Let's not be falling for it. Let's demand that our representatives, spending our money do the right thing. If they don't, make your voice heard at the ballot box.
On the one hand we have board members thinking we should let Ukranians starve and be ousted from their homes because they can't afford to pay their bills. On the other we have board members who think Starmer is just another tory and refuse to vote for Labour "whilst that man is in charge". If I was a tory party member I would be rubbing my hands with glee, their message is working.
