Immunisation Cards

That's not really the point. Watch trial 4 on Netflix it gives some idea of how a single piece of information can send you to jail for 20 years for a crime you didn't commit.

I have no qualms about it or needing to be immunised to do things BUT only when the vaccine is readily available to everyone. Being told you can’t go here or there until you are vaccinated whilst not actually being able to get the vaccine isn’t fair. It’s not acceptable that all the elderly and vulnerable can get back to normal whist the rest of us have to sit at home, lose our jobs and livelihoods etc. We’ve already sacrificed enough. Unless they make it law plenty of airlines won’t insist on vaccinations to fly, our industry is on its knees and plenty of airlines will break ranks in order to just survive.

So what are you suggesting?

No one can travel until everyone's had the vaccine? How does that benefit anyone? You won't be travelling any sooner.

"Fairness" becomes a bad thing when it doesn't benefit anyone, and some lose out as a result, which is what you are suggesting.

I thought I dealt with you earlier Mutley.
It will hopefully be about who has had the chance to have the vaccine.

Some people will choose not to, for whatever reason paranoia or otherwise.

Societies need to open up and should not pass up on a means of facilitating this.

For what gain?

I mean the NHS knows where you live and has all your medical history.
The taxman knows where you live and knows what you earn and how much you pay in taxes.
The border control authorities know exactly where you have been abroad, and when.
The energy providers know how much gas and electricity you use.
Your internet provider knows what you look at online.
The Council know exactly who you live with.
The Bank knows exactly what how spend your money on, and how desperate you are for more.
Your social media accounts can deduct what political persuasion you are.
The internet knows what advertising is likely to get specifically YOU to put your hand in your pocket.
The water provider knows how much you wash, pee and poo.
The supermarkets know exactly what you buy and how often you need to because of your loyalty cards.
And your mobile phone operator knows exactly where you are 24 hrs a day.

So why do ‘they’ need to put a microchip in us?

Exactly, and we signed up for 50% of that willfully on our own.

Not disputing that Mwelo, I am happy to wait my turn and get vaccinated. That wasn't really what I was alluding to. It was around making private information publicly available.

Fair enough

I was meaning to reply to FH, but clicked on the wrong post.

Bring it on.
Anyone else also find it refreshing that you can't get the jab privately?
Stand in line until the vulnerable are dealt with first. Love it.

I’m sure it will be available privately before too long, if not already.
Give it a couple of weeks.

No mention yet of future vaccination costs.
First one "free" isn't that how pushers work?
Pfizer and co. are not philanthropic saints and an annual jab is looking likely.

Lifeof, I would expect yearly jabs to be free on the NHS for certain groups similar to the flu at the moment.

I could understand why anyone (Quantas) would want to have people prove vaccination if they couldn't pass the virus on, but currently thats not the case. It may well prove to be the case but not yet.
Using Australia as an example why would they let you in if you can still transmit.
The vaccination only protects one person.

The picture will become clearer as we move forward. Mostly we are just speculating.

Some countries will have tougher rules than others. Some businesses will want to see some proof of vaccination before using their services, though I seriously doubt this last one.

We are all free to choose how we deal with those limitations of and when they come along.

No, what is the problem with having your name added to a list after receiving the Covid jabs. It's the equivalent of carrying a card.
I have done this to death on another thread. Would you suggest we should all carry cards to confirm we are clear of hiv too?

No, because HIV isn't a highly infectious contagion that has spread through communities across the globe and forced entire countries into lockdowns which have crippled economies worldwide resulting in mass unemployment, mental health issues, unprecedented pressure on health care...I could go on

I think you'd have to accept you've drawn a very poor comparison here in your case against Covid passports and you and I have previously accepted we will never share the same views on this topic
