He worked hard for sure and I would hate to play against him but I didn’t think he was that great at holding the ball up, a lot bounced off him.

He is not very mobile but I was very impressed by his strength and application.

I don’t see him scoring a great deal of goals but we will benefit from his strengths if we can get regular runners around him.

He was alright, held it up alright at times and used his strength well, but doubt he will ever be good enough to score the goals we need. He will always put a shift in but is going to be lacking in quality. Looking back at this you would think we had just seen a world class performance
 
He offers us a presence up top that we've been lacking for quite some time. He's never going to bang in 20 a season, you can see that, however with a quick poacher type playing off him I think he will be very effective for us. We just need to find that someone who will compliment him. He definitely puts a shift in!

Have no agenda against Warnock or his politics, I had mentioned on the other thread he shouldn’t be using his position to make political statements, but that doesn’t mean I have an agenda against him does it?

I think it says so much about what has gone before when people get so excited about his performance today.

Seems that way. Overly negative for no reason. You aren’t looking at the game objectively. Just judging our performance with not even thinking about who we were playing.
 
Really clever signing to be fair, lacked goals from our forwards for years barring Bamford, so we’ve signed a lump who doesn’t really score anyway. Expectations automatically lowered and the fans talk about how hard he works.

That should be a bare minimum. Effort. Strikers should score.
 
People seem to be getting a bit excited over my view that he had a really good first half in terms of his aggression, application and ability to hold the ball up. All a bit strange.

We payed about 650K for him from Wycombe. What were people expecting? Prime Drogba? He’s a bit of a unit brought in to compete with defenders and hopefully contribute to about 10 goals this season and a few assists. He got stuck in, won fouls and held the ball up. We have signed a player suited to how we play. I’m sure we are looking for a first choice striker to come in but I don’t understand any knocking of his first half performance today.

By the same logic people on here clearly like Warnock and are praising him when he didn’t really deserve it today.
The same people on here defending the performance would have wanted Pulis or woodgate sacked if he had made those subs or given a performance like that

What, the positive subs that got us something out of the game and might possibly win it?!

And do you think Woodgate would've had the nous to make those sort of changes?! I don't.

There is only you who has a problem with the performance for god sake. Not even Comparable to Pulis. Honestly just stop.
 
I liked him. I think with a couple of skillfull and quick forwards to play off him he would be excellent. Taking into consideration that was his league debut for us against pretty much a lower Premier league side I don't think he was bad at all. I still think he will be an important player for us this season and will get better once him and the players around him have more understanding of each other, if we get Payero on set pieces(going by YouTube videos of Payero and set piece ability) we will benefit from a big strong forward like Ikpeazu.
