If we'd got Warnock instead of Pulis..

No I am saying that walking into a squad that already cost 60 million, with another 20 million to spend should guarantee promotion. Even spending 20 million alone and finishing outside the playoffs can only mean you have done a poor job.

Cost is irrelevant. Those players could have cost £300m to assemble and it didn’t make them any better at football. All that means is the club has previously spent big money on rubbish.

You should know by now the manager doesn’t buy the players at this football club, no matter who that manager is.

So by your definition he did a good job in his first season and a poor one in the second.

In that same season. Norwich won the league with a net spend of around £6m...and actually played decent football and in the season before they finished 14th.....now that is what you call an improvement.

We went from finishing 5th in the play offs, to ending up outside the play offs....after spending £20m on players we didn't need.

It's no wonder the likes of Bolasie turned us down when we had Pulis in charge.

I can't say I blame Bolasie neither.

Plenty of other managers would have been promoted with that squad. He completely failed, there is no question of that, whilst also playing the worst football that many of us have ever seen.

I can’t defend Pulis.

he put teams out with a back 5 of Shotton, Fry, Ayala, Flint and Friend. How can anyone accept that is unbelievable. That leaves only 4 positions for forward
Thinking players but in them positions he regularly had the likes of Howson, Clayton, Saville, Mikel and Besic. Warnock is light years better than the dinosaur that is Pulis.

If you had a clue about football you’d know there was 70,000 reasons that Bolasie didn’t come here, and Pulis wasn’t one.

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

It's absolutely amazing how there's still some out there defending that idiot.

Those tactics were incredible. Playing one of the best teams in the league and he starts 4 CBs, 1 LB, 4 CMs and a striker.

The bloke was an absolute clown.

Plenty more aswell where that came from. Unbelievable

Yeah plenty of other managers. That’s why when you all deemed “anyone could do a better job” it turned out in fact they couldn’t. We dropped like a stone through the league.

If that’s the worst football you’ve ever seen you either haven’t supported Boro very long or haven’t watched many games of football.

Either answer would explain a lot.

Would be ridiculous if he hadn’t publicly stated the squad wasn’t good enough and the pace/width he asked for never arrived.

So called fans like you are part of the reason we are in this mess. You demanded Pulis be removed with anyone who will attack coming in and took a massive step back when the consequences emerged.
Flint, McNair, Saville. There are 20 million reasons why pulis is a key part of why we are where we are, if you want to play the numbers game.
Millions more in wages and loan fees for Besic, Mikel, Hugill, Van La Parra.

Everything about pulis was poison and we are still fumigating the place.

Wanting rid of the pollution, was not the same as wanting Woodgate.

Just because Woodgate also failed doesnt make Pulis less of a failure. Plenty other managers we could have hired for a lot less than what we were paying Pulis that would have done the job properly.

Would expect many others on here would agree with me that its the worst football we have played, sure if you asked a West Brom fan they would probably say the same thing too.

This defence of your hero is incredible.

He maybe didn't sign any wide players....but he still had the likes of Tav at his disposal.

Face the truth. Pulis failed.

He was signed to gain promotion. He was given plenty of money of which he spent £20m....more than most in the league and he still didn't get us up.

The bloke was a clown. And we rightly so parted ways last summer.

I wouldn’t expect a bloke who can’t spell Norwich to understand football tactics and systems.

ever heard of a mistype? Not gonna get in argument with you as you come accross blind when it comes to Pulis. But I can assure you i know my football. Have a good day

No the demand was “anyone but Pulis”. You people got what you wanted. Woodgate is anyone. Own it.

Are you naive enough to believe Pulis signed identified and signed those players? Next you’ll be telling me Karanka begged Gibson to sign Rhodes, Downing, Bamford, Gestede, etc, etc.

That’s not how this club works. The days of a manager and a little black book of targets are long gone.

The only player Pulis identified and pursued was Mikel, who (after false outrage from our fans) turned out to be one of our best players.

No I’m just stating reality which you are clearly unable to accept.
