we kept bowling so wide for some reason!

I don’t buy the conditions excuse. Nearly all of that team play in the IPL in those conditions. Different format, but far from alien to them.

There was a lack of game plan and intent. Bowling was garbage. These wouldn’t be our favoured conditions, but we have more than enough talent in that side to be beating Afghanistan.

Anything less than top 4 is a massive failure for us. Questions would need be asked about Mott and Buttler being in charge moving forward.

On the evidence of the first 3 games, we’re not getting past the group stage.
 
Buttler is the most overhyped player we’ve had in the last 10 years and has been accommodated to shoe horn him in the team in all three formats when he is purely a T20 slogger. Kept wicket and given vice captaincy duties over other better options along the way too.
 
Australia playing to get their first win today and Sri Lanka have started solidly. If Aus don’t win this you would think that would be the end for them.

People say that but they have played India snd South Africa they still have Bangladesh Afghanistan Holland etc to come

The same time we are playing the big boys do I can see aus finishing higher than people think.

That’s true and let’s see how they fare against a team they should be beating in Sri Lanka who are 79-0 off 14
 
Sri Lanka have made a solid start. Our game against Australia could be a dead rubber. The way we played yesterday I couldn’t see us beating anyone bar the Netherlands, but maybe we’ll raise our game against the big boys?!

Not sure about his captaincy yesterday, but he’s a destructive batter in the short format.
