ICC Cricket World Cup Starts at 9.30 am This Morning

A very uncompetitive World Cup overall.

Barely any matches were on a knife's edge.
Australia fighting back against Afghanistan is one of the few that stand out.

The looks in the crowd were all the reward I needed! It was like "this isn't supposed to happen" and of course the whole crowd remembered a pressing appointment when it was clear that they were beaten. Can't blame the fans but the whole tournament had a rather unhealthy feeling of "sportswashing" and ego massage especially when the final is played in a stadium baring the name of the Prime Minister (like us playing in the Ben Houchen Stadium)

The Aussies winning the WC is a victory for cheats and ungentlemanly, aggressive conduct. They have no shame.

That's sport, littered with cheats. Watch the Boro and see the intentional fouling, diving and attempts to make the officials make incorrect decisions, not to mention time wasting.

Did he turn up?

There was talk of him not wanting to be seen to be associated with failure so he was holding back to see how it was going.
Modi was there, presented the trophy too. Indian cricket fans are pretty much like football fans, not sure it’s always been that way? Definitely more noticeable since IPL, mind you we are getting that way judging by last year’s Ashes.

"Getting that way". If you have experienced the Barmy Army out in Australia you will know its been like that for years.

Too right. Let's not kid ourselves that Indian cricket fans are the only "one eyed" partisan cricket followers. Barmy Army out in Australia. Loads in football shirts not watching much of the cricket. taunting Australians, not clapping the opposition, general football chants. Im not against it even though I avoid them but we shouldn't throw stones in glass houses.

Same here - I don't mind it too much, though remember the Ashes before last being in the Hollies stand with two older blokes, getting short shrift asking people in fancy dress to sit down because they wanted to watch the cricket!
