I wish Wilder would stop saying “CV”

It’s all about avoiding managerial cliches like “He’s got a good touch for a big man” “ He’s got a good engine” etc etc.

Love a bit of Latin abbreviation

He’s part of the group moving forward.

he comes out with quite a lot of management bullschitt tbf. He just have gone to the same media training class as Garry Monk!

He talks straight and to the point.
Seems quite clear and comprehendible to me.
What do people want him to say?
Perhaps waffle on about his wife and glasses of wine like Wornhock?
He doesnt give stock-in-trade answers.
Ask Craig Johns - who got short shrift in the last media conference - as did the journo from Look Newcastle.

He said a piece last week about Eddie Jones speak - about all the terms and phrases that have come in to football like "transition" for instance. Everyone uses them as if they are mysterious new inventions rather than new names for long established parts of the game.

When you speak to the media as often as they now have to it’s not surprising that some nonsense like CV, Group and The Building get spouted.
Personally I find Wilder open, clear, direct, honest, forthright, believable, informative and entertaining.
I love the bloke to bits and we are damned lucky to have him here.

In my line of work CV means Calorific Value i.e. how much energy is produced when something is burned.

He's not suggesting burning players is he so we can see the amount of energy they have :)

Was going to say exactly the same thing.

I thought that was funny when I watched him talking about that:love:
He was stripping back the media speak - using single words to describe what they meant.
He was laughing too - I think it was a back-handed micky-take after the assembled throng were asking for sound-bites and stock-in-trade answers (y)
