I voted Tory

I absolutely hate the way people put people in a "box" because of who they voted for.

I voted Tory, however I did so because I felt they were the best of a bad bunch.

I didn't have a party that represented me or my beliefs fully.

There were many policies I favoured from Labour over the Tories.

I've worked for the NHS in my previous career for 5 years and my job and life is devoted to preventative healthcare.

It sickens me the way our government have failed and I didn't vote for Brexit either.

Just wanted to put that out there, because the bickering between party followers on here annoys me.

I voted labour.

Because the Tories have ruined alot of people's lives over their stay in power.

****ed the economy.

Created the brexit fiasco.

Killed the NHS we now rely on.

Not sure how labour can be deemed to worse in a bad bunch when they haven't been in power for a decade.

Not bickering, but family in the NHS wouldn't be able to talk to me if I voted Tory. Are you sure you worked for them?

I also voted tory, i just couldn't vote for labour at that time, between Corbyn and Abbott I just couldn't do it.

I would definetly vote differently now.

I did too. I hated both leaders and the way both parties were heading so I actually just voted on local issues.

I asked what they would be doing for the borough, Asked questions on issues that were significant to me, such as IR35. My Tory candidate provided better responses than my labour one. Doesn't mean I can't be outraged by the way the government is currently treating us though.

Yes I am sure I worked for the NHS.

Voting for Tory wasn't JUST about one thing, I run a small business and I would have suffered almost instantly under Corbyn's policies.

My best mates voted Tory - but they shouldn't have, they didn't choose to educate themselves correctly.

They would suit Labour.

What exactly did you prefer about the Tories which swayed you to vote for them?!?

Unbelievable Jeff!

I don't understand this view that people take. Whatever your reason for not liking Corybn and Abbott, this must mean you were happy to give a vote to Boris who is a known racist, homophobe etc...

Baffles me that people say 'Oh I just couldnt vote for him' but then are happy to instead vote for someone as openly awful as Johnson.

Bit of an odd thing to post if you are sick of the bickering between party followers on here. I think your post will encourage that.

I actually don’t think many people care who votes what - it’s more the blinkered defence and failure to acknowledge any errors or faults (on both sides) that gets people going.

Not all Tories are bad people, not all labour voters are good people.

Let's face it, one of the reasons that many could not vote for Labour was down to Corbyn and Abbott show. That is the fault of the Labour Party collectively.
Now they appear to be getting their schitt together they are more than likely to topple the current government who illustrate each passing day that they do not have what it takes.
From a personal perspective I voted Labour mainly on points like NHS, social care and a complete lack of trust in Johnson. He is a man of soundbites and bluster but very little substance. Probably the thickest public school boy since The Donald.

Fabio hits the nail on the head. We live in a free country and we can each make our choices, for whatever reasons. It doesn't need to be excused nor reasoned away. However, most of the bickering that happens on here is because of blind, idiotic defense of one party over another, or worse, blind acceptance and the attempted defence of specific policies and how that exposes certain aspects of someones nature.

I also have never understood the "I couldn't vote for Corbyn" when it is based on personality. It exposes a lack of understanding of the world around us and how British politics works.

All that said, welcome back to the fold.

I voted Labour, and have been a LP member, on and off, for years. I acknowledged the reasons why we lost in a previous post some time ago (Corbyn isn't anti-Semitic at all, but was basically just a crap party leader).

But I can't understand why anyone would have voted for Johnson. No matter what your intentions were - local issues or whatever - you voted for this mess. It's not like his character and history of naked dishonesty wasn't known about. In the local elections prior to the GE, I voted Green myself, due to my dissatisfaction with how the LP was led. But could never in a million years have brought myself to vote for this vainglorious liar and his band of selfish, over-privileged incompetents.

Still, each to their own. We're all different and view the world around us in our own ways. The LP must do better and win people back.
