I’m so sad tonight

This stuff going on tonight at that vigil for a murdered woman
Met police seemingly wading in.
What a god awful country we live in
What a god awful time to be alive.

I want to think it’s going to get better and life will be worth living at some point again but I can’t believe it just now.

It’s just awful

These are women who just wanted to mourn a poor soul taken from this world with an act of brutality met with nothing but aggression. Seemingly in the name of enforcing this godforsaken lockdown that has ruined mine (and millions of others) mental health.

I simply don’t want to be part of this world. If I could take a pill that would remove me from it I’d take it.

I appreciate it's not a good time for anything, but the only way to enact change is to be the change.

Covid makes it difficult but focus more on the things you'd like changing and how you might do that (post-covid).

Feeling helpless due to the sheer volume of terrible shyt is understandable. Don't lose hope though - things CAN change.

My beloved football team won 3-0 today but it didn’t make me happy.

My second team sit pretty second in league one, they didn’t play today, but results largely went their way. Didn’t make me happy.

Don’t argue about this. It’s pointless. Whole thing makes me sad. Lockdown has ruined me. I’m off to bed now. If I could take a pill that means I don’t wake up in the morning I would. But I can’t.

Peace.

Who said that and on which thread? That’s a disgraceful thing to say. 😟
It was said on the Tory Britain thread by a regular poster, who looks like they’ve deleted it. It still shows for me as I was going to quote reply to it but I just couldn’t bring myself to get involved with that type of comment.

Edit* I won’t reveal their name as they’ve obviously thought twice by deleting it. Will leave it to them if they want to own up to it.

Unfortunately the police have lost control of the country.

Look at the response to protests last summer. Those protesting against lockdown measures were met with the same response as those women tonight.
Or the shameful arrests and physical man handling of elderly protestors and scientists, no outcry then.

Or other various protests and gatherings over the past 12 months that have been met with nothing more than a watchful eye.

These are sad, sad days mate and you're not alone in despairing. Things will improve. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Not condoning any heavy handiness in any way but there shouldn’t be mass gatherings like that in the current climate, it’s just not safe, some of those photo’s show large numbers of people, hundreds, in very close proximity.
Many of Sarah Everard’s friends have said that they didn’t attend tonight, as much as they wanted to, because they could see what it has become. I’m sure that the majority who did go to Clapham Common today and tonight went to pay their respects, but it’s clear that some have gone with the sole intention of causing trouble. How very sad. It has now also become politicised and people will all to easily forget that a young woman has been brutally murdered.

Cause trouble?
I don't understand? What possible reasoning could be used to cause trouble at what is essentially a memorial?
