I’m not a proper Boro Fan.

Nah. Lived in Redcar for 3 years so I’ve deffo had a lemon top.
Priority Points and Gold Cards are not status symbols. You are a fan or not a fan. This is what inspired #MyBoroMyShirt - a photo speaks volumes. If you have some kind of Boro shirt or tshirt put it on then you can post your picture on social media or on here using hashtag #MyBoroMyShirt - tell us where you are and what Boro means to you -
we launched this idea this season with the very simple message that anyone and everyone can be part of Boro and feel the town is a second home to them. It doesn't matter if you have a gold card or no card, current Boro shirt or an old Boro tshirt, you might be 90 or 9, come from Thorntree or Timbuktu - be proud to be wear the shirt because we are proud to be fellow Boro fans.

You’re a fan if it matters to you how the Boro get on, even if only for five minutes.

As a teen and into my 20s, a defeat would ruin my weekend, later 20s and 30s just Saturday night, 40s until I had my first Saturday night pint and now am over it in time for Strictly😂

I got on a train going north for Christmas. Boro had played in London that day and there were a load of Boro fans in my carriage. I got chatting to them about the game and soon found out that they weren't in fact Boro fans , but makams, and I couldn't tell the accents apart anymore. I moved into a different coach.

I dont consider myself a better, or lesser Boro fan than any other Boro fan

Absoutely love the Boro been going since late 71, as did my brother, my dad went to Boro games since he was 11 in 1946 until the age of his passing just short of his 84th birthday, I've watched the Boro at 82 different grounds, eat parmos twice a year, watch my figure you know ;)

Cant remember the last time I went to an away ground mind, 10 years back, telling myself once I retire I'll do more away games, maybe get the magical 92

Introduced both my kids to the Boro who remain Boro fans to this day, both go occassionally

Oh & I have some memorabilia which I love to look through from the good old days when I was alot, lot younger

Born in Lancashire.
Never had a Parmo
Never been on a night out in Boro.
Didn’t attend a game until I was 18 but then went to every home game and many away for the next 11 years.
Live in the south now (last 24 years) and mainly get to Southern away games and half a dozen home games a season.
My biggest shame is my Southern born son supports Chelsea.
My younger daughter loves the Boro despite living all her life in Kent.

How did you come to support Boro then.
