I’m a bit worried…

Don't mind Engel but the one thing he needs to stop or get better at is that first time pass inside, his passing in general is fine but I've lost count of how many times he has given the ball away with that first time pass he likes to do.

I feel like he gives the ball away at least once a game doing that, cost us for the 6th goal last night, same at West Brom.
Yeah his first time passing is more often than not very bad. When he takes a touch he settles down and looks a footballer. I’m still iffy on him as I think he has some good attributes but he does make similar mistakes game on game.

When he's carrying the ball down the left side he always picks out passes through bodies to try and play a 1-2 or cut opponents out of the game so he's clearly got a good footballing brain but those first time passes annoy the hell out of me because I can see it coming a mile off when the ball gets played into him.

the pass is obviously something they work on a lot in training (hence why he does it) it's up the midfielder to be in position to collect it

I must admit I think you right. I like him, I think when we're chasing games and he goes 1v1 and has to be gung ho he does OK and he looked better with Bangura in front of him where Carrick tweeked his position. Other than that though he has been poor defensively and not done enough going forward.

1st half at Millwall until he scored he was as bad as at Sheffield Wednesday, but I do hope he comes good.

Also for the 1st goal Dael Fry alone did not play them onside Rav was level with him and the goal was down to tactics and how Howson dropping in didn't work.
"he looked better with Bangura in front of him"

When was this exactly? For 20 mins v Chelsea in first leg?

I think a few people need to temper their expectations of how a player performs from the off and consider where they are coming from.
The days of us buying players if the quality to just come in and be brilliant are behind us. We are now in the situation of finding players who we can afford and who we can improve through coaching. Engel has half a season here and he's been in and out of the side in that time. He's making a step up from the Swiss league too. I'm not saying he's going to go on and be sold for £50m, but the lad has to be given chance to learn and improve and if he doesn't then we've hardly wasted a fortune on him.
As for talk of replacing the whole back 4, have people forgotten that two poor starts to the season have cost us dearly? A massive defensive overhaul in the summer could make that a hat trick and that'd be stupidity.
Plenty of people have recognised that we get exposed down the left and that's fair, but when you look at the injuries and the players we have available you can see that our left side has suffered more than anywhere else.
I've got faith in Carrick that he'll do the best thing for his squad and wholesale changes in the summer won't help.
What we need more than anything is to actually get some of the injuries, long term or niggling, sorted so that we actually have players physically able to perform at their best.

Personally I thought Howson was terrible really bad, he is towards the end of his career now and Barlauser isn't good enough either. We need 2 centre backs as none of them are good enough for this league as it shows in our stats I actually think Clarke is our best option at the back but he was poor last night.

Clarke was towing a caravan hes so immobile the best option at the back is him on the bench
