Hull - squad emptying fast

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Hull City centre-back Jacob Greaves on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

on the back of Tufan & Philogene plus all their loans last season their squad is looking thin, they'll be signing some players soon.

VAST majority of their goals have left or been sold, that is a HUGE rebuilding task, the type of sale that could cause a drop in division as it could take them forever to gel.

Hull had a go and it didn't succeed, now it's a major rebuild similar to us when we lost Archer, Chuba etc.

They'll probably come flying out of the blocks. Win 9 of their first 10 games, leaving us all scratching our heads.. Then we'll finish the season above them, obviously.

Sacking Rosenior could prove an incredibly costly mistake. That's half the issue with a lot of owners in English football, they believe their own hype and believe a manager is essentially irrelevant to the success they're bankrolling. They've got the depth in quality to not go down but there's no way with their squad of lower mid table Championship stalwarts and previous one time capped Turkish internationals and Basiksehir trialists that they're going to be anywhere near as quality as they were at times last year.

I recall Rosenior last year saying they were comfortable with regards to FFP and was basically saying there was no need to worry next season.

He may have just been rolling out the club line and deflecting from the reality, but thought it was strange given the owner seemed to be quite open and honest about their position.

Perhaps he was trying to keep the alarm bells away from their play off push too. But think it’s quite convenient how we he was sacked at the end of the season given the relatively good job he was doing.

Definitely feels like there may have been a breakdown between him and the owner. He’d spent a bit of time building something there and was obviously going to have to lose players and have a further rebuild this season.

Given the amount of money they threw at just reaching the play offs, it wasn’t a very well calculated gamble as we know the play offs are a lottery.

I remember Kieran Scott’s interview with BBC Tees and he seemed perplexed at how they could spend so much and still comply with FFP in the longer term so the clear out always seemed to be on the cards.

For me thats a clear case of taking the pressure of your team. He wouldnt have believed a word and must have been aware of the gamble the owners were taking. Stevie will have a wry smile about it.

I also think they underplay how many factors are beyond their control too.

Not every club can buy successful and one clubs success is dependent upon another 'failing'.

It's not easy to achieve success, especially for a relatively small club like Hull, with traditionally little pulling power.

The worry for them is that the owners tire of their new toy and move on. I think they do have owners that have a track record in football, so hopefully that's not the case though, but it's happened too many times.

I’m very worried for the season ahead, new unproven manager coupled with the best players being sold doesn’t bode well.

We won’t be challenging at the top of the table this season and nervously looking below instead.
Awww commmme onnnnn, take the bait and threw the toys out of the pram by our bantz. It's no fun if you answer sensibly and in a balanced way, 👎

Looks like they lost out now to Sheff United for Keiffer Moore, 2m to Blades instead of Hull. Isn’t Arron Connelly a free agent now, could come back to Hull’s rescue 🙈
