Hull forum Boro preview

They better enjoy their brief soiree` with the civilised world - because, like Spurn Point, Kilnsea and Withernsea, their City and its delightful crumbling tower - blocks will soon be under water - due to climate change. 👍

Maybe due to the tragic human displacement that this flooding will inevitably cause, we can finally ship several plane loads of the cod heads to that accommodation reserved in Rwanda.

Would love to beat them just for this comment.

I also worked in Hull and can vouch for the fact that the only good thing about the place is the Road out of it.
It is also as plain as the nose on yer face that the above poster hasn't been anywhere other than Hull and really needs to get a life, which would mean he would have to get out of it, so don't hold yer breath.
The next time they want a Bridge building we should tell them to feck off and build it themselves.

A few more houses in Ingleby Barwick?

Been to Hull a few times.
Big wide open streets - very flat, always windy.
Always feels like it's on a loose end as its an extreme point in the country......big road in (M62) but nowhere to go when you get there.
Redeveloped Marina bit okay IIRC

Spelling and status is terrible:

"Middlesborough" = Middlesbrough
"City" = Town
"Curs" = Curse
"Teeside" = Teesside

Clearly, they still send children up chimneys rather than go to school.

"The curs of the North..."

Cur means an agressive, scruffy mongrel dog. Basically, the poster is calling us mongrels.

EDIT

on second thoughts, reading the post again, I doubt the poster has such a large vocabulary to know the word "cur"

Really poor area Hull. Did you know that their real name is Kingston upon Hull , but they couldn’t afford the whole title so they go by the local river, Hull ?

There are striking similarities between the two places. Having worked in hull i found the locals to be sound and good humoured like boro folk and there is plenty of good pubs old and new in 'ull. We could do with boro having some of the investment hull has had which has made a big difference to the city.
