Huge swell of support for Neil Warnock!

Ah yes, bottom half to 6th in the space of three games against very poor sides. He's improved the side since he took over but let's not get carried away, Woodgate was doing a dreadful job.

Thankfully the injury crisis has forced him to pick Samba and Payero and play Crookes where he's effective, it's made him go for two up front and don't we look a far better team for it.

Without the crisis would we still be stumbling along with Fry in the side, McNair and Howson in midfield?

Do you mean like we "stumbled" through the victory against an in-form Sheffield United with Fry as centre back and Howson and McNair driving the midfield and Paddy scoring the second goal? Maybe now we can look upon the Hull City game as a blip - loads of missed chances blown and getting kicked off the pitch.

Howson is an outstanding RB. He was under Pulis and same when he was right of a back 3 for Woodgate. Keep him there.
Payero in midfield.. what a difference it makes to have someone that can pass the ball instead of clobber it like McNair.

..and the Reading game, where they had 5 defenders out injured ?

Whilst I'm in the bracked of 'not getting too carried away', I do think you have to give credit where it's due and he's picked a team that has won three on the spin, played increasingly well and not conceded a goal.

He's rightly taken some criticism lately and he now should get some plaudits too.

'against poor sides' - so we didn't win those games, and if we did it was 100% down to the players that Neil Warnock accidentally picked.

Without the crisis we would have had Dijksteel, Bola and Fry fully fit.. are you saying we wouldn't have been able to compete in the league with these three key players fully fit? We are in sixth place despite the crisis not because of it.

That's without getting into Ameobi being injured or indeed Martin Payero - maybe folks should have a look at how many minutes he's played vs how many minutes he's been available to play,

I mean we've seen improvement in terms of players and league position since Warnock arrived..

2019–20 - Saved us from relegation, completely turned the team around and saw us finish 17th

2020–21 - Huge improvements to Fry, McNair, Tavernier etc an unexpected and respectable 10th place finish

2019–20 - TWELVE new players, countless injures to key players, currently sitting in 6th place.

Tavernier & McNair regularly feature in championship teams of the week. Matty Crookes has been a revelation as has Sol Bamba.

Far too many folks wanting to grab attention on social media by pouring pish over the manager and out team with totally unqualified opinions.

oneboro is like a breeding ground for daft little meff trolls, we had Boro Fan TV trying to be the next Arsenal Fan TV slagging off the manager, the team etc just to gain likes and shares.. and i'm getting the same sort of vibes from 'the boro breakdown podcast' - as much as folks like to criticize the team, managers etc when they are not performing I seriously think that we need to take a look at our online fanbase.

That post doesn't come across as bitter at all :)

As a matter of interest Newy, who exactly IS qualified to pass off an opinion on the Boro?

There's a good chance, yes. Howson and McNair may be still plodding in midfield, Crookes pushed forward, one striker. That's how it was.

Samba has been a revelation, head and shoulders above anything we've seen from Fry. Crookes deeper in midfield is dominating games. McNair is in his best position, he's a poor midfielder, same goes for Howson.

There's been a transformation in the team, as there was to the team under McLaren when he was forced to play Zenden in central midfield.

I'm massively bitter! It does my head in! If you watch the matches and support the team then you have every right to an opinion.

But all this ITK stuff saying that Kieran Scott has brought in players that Neil Warnock doesn't want and that Kieran Scott will be getting rid of Neil Warnock is absolute rubbish.

If you don't watch the games, you don't support the team.. then it's a totally unqualified position to take that our manager is the worst manager in the league and he isn't coaching the players correctly.

Fry and McNair were Warnock's preferred defensive duo. Is Howson still one of our key players and integral to our success. The Warnock out crew would have him as the root of all our problems.

I'm pretty sure the vast majority of posters that come on here or elsewhere and post their opinion, watch the games.
I'm glad I've got your blessing to have an opinion on my team though...

edit: Warnock has actually stated that some of our buys weren't his...so you don't even have to be "ITK" to be aware of that.

Impossible to say really, but Bamba has been great and will be hard to dislodge.

Aside from that you'd have to say that Fry, Bola and Dijksteel are big players for us and it will give us some real competition for places.

Whereas the Warnock love in will make every excuse in the book for him, in order to explain his teams bang average performance in 2021.

Credit must go to him for the 3 wins in a week, of course, but will we follow it up with a slump like we did post christmas last year when we'd won a few games on the bounce - I hope not.

We've beaten 3 of the worst sides in the league, which is great, but we need to kick on from here rather than giving up on the season as we did last year.

I think you'll find the vast majority of the warnock out brigade don't watch the games.. some aren't even boro fans!!

Why do people keep using the calendar year to judge our performance? the season doesn't run to a calendar year! We've had a HUGE turnover in players so you would expect a transitional period for us to get up to speed. as for LAST YEAR/LAST SEASON we rolled the dice on bringing players in to try and make a push for the playoffs.

We wouldn't have had a chance without them. Kebano, NML, Bolasie.. another period of transition including fitness issues with the players we gambled on. Lets not forget the slumps we suffered as a result of Fry and Tavernier being injured too.

Not so sure about Fry but the other two certainly are, we look a better defence with Samba in there instead of Fry. It's what the manager does when they're all fit that's interesting. Will he continue with two up front, Crookes and Payero in the middle?

Probably the same reason the Warnock in crowd make out as though we were dead and buried under Woodgate and "Neil" came in and performed a miracle of epic proportions to avoid relegation, even though it was 2 seasons ago. They think that because he took an average team to an average league position, it somehow excuses any future performances and we should be eternally grateful, and we somehow owe him a living.
