I think you are shooting massively wide of the mark on this.I'd be interested to know how much money the club actually put into the MFC Foundation themselves.
Learn what? How to have the finances of a lower league team? The best bit for me is that the offer is open to everyone; not just existing season ticket holders. Boro could learn from that.
Last time I checked they were in our league.Learn what? How to have the finances of a lower league team?
I'm not shooting at anything. I don't know anything about the clubs involvement. Thanks for clarifying though Rob. I actually thought the club played more of a part in the foundation than you've explained.I think you are shooting massively wide of the mark on this.
For charity status the two organisations have to be completely separate. To become a charity we had to leave Mbro Council completely at Captain Cook Birthplace Trust. Our books must be totally and completely independent.
But Boro and the Foundation operate totally hand in hand. Tonight for instance the MFC Foundation will be operating from the Riverside stadium. They will be working with Boro staff and also looking after the flag wavers as well as the big collections which Boro will be promoting through their media and on the night. They will also be fund raising through their lottery scheme.
They have to be standalone to have charitable status but they work very closely indeed.
Not for longSame league as us mate.
Which is why I said ‘finances off’ because they won’t be able to compete with an average championship side financially and will ultimately slip back down the leagues if they keep those prices. It’s inevitableLast time I checked they were in our league.
They are smashing every club in the league for attendances. Averaging over 38,000 at home. When you're getting that many through the gates every week I'm sure they are doing ok for revenue. I think you're massively underestimating how much revenue they're generating to be honest. It's not just all about ticket sales.Which is why I said ‘finances off’ because they won’t be able to compete with an average championship side financially and will ultimately slip back down the leagues if they keep those prices. I thought we were talking Huddersfield here not Sunderland. Huddersfield’s low prices will sink them because they are minimising their Matchday revenue, they’ll sink without a trace unless there is a radical rethink. They are smashing every club in the league for attendances. Most others in the division we are compatible with.
Are you for real? The bigger picture is surely looking at what everyone else charges for the same thing! It's not about wanting something for nowt. It's about not wanting to feel ripped off. Most just want something for not very much and don’t consider the bigger picture.
Why would you want to compare with others? Especially Huddersfield who are a financial basket case, MFC is a business not a charity it costs what it costs as we saw in another thread. Are you for real? If this is how the club must operate to stay afloat then that's how it is but let's not try and claim it's good value for money when most other clubs prices in the same league are not even coming close to ours, particularly when you are attending as a family.

Hardly, people want things cheaper which I understand but people expect football clubs to be handing out tickets for next to nothing. We are in a financial crisis in this country so expect things to cost more to cover overheads.
Yup, the energy crisis for example is a massive problem for clubs, stadiums cost a fortune to run. As will the costs of all their suppliers. The costs will have massively increased.Hardly, people want things cheaper which I understand but people expect football clubs to be handing out tickets for next to nothing. I truly believe that if Steve Gibson could charge us less then he would freeze ticket prices, if the club were to match Huddersfield’s ticket prices then we would end up out of business.Yup, the energy crisis for example is a massive problem for clubs, stadiums cost a fortune to run. But we have watched utter ***** for the majority of the last 15 years, and still paid more than the majority of fans in the football league and some premier league sidesForget other teams for a second, do you believe £480 for 23/19 football matches is that bad? We have seen some really great stuff this season and it’s a small price to pay. Breakdown is £20.87/£25.26 depending what league we are in.
